Re: Yet More Comic Book Sinking Scenes
Here's something a little different. These are from pages from a Jo-Jo sinking scene involving two ladies, one bad, one Jo-Jo's girl... guess who survives?
I picked the panels with the bog in it, and I tried to clean up the coloring on the panels to make for better images of this all too rare "bad girl gets hers" scene. I think it turned out okay.

They're both here. Just the comics, not the covers.
Maybe someone with lots of free time can go through this comics thread page by page and document what's posted here already, and on what thread page it can be found on.

Re: Yet More Comic Book Sinking Scenes
One of the Nancy Drew books, number 25, actually: The Ghost of Blackwood Hall, has a quicksand scene where Nancy and her boyfriend end up in it. She gets out with his help, then rescues him.
This is the illustration which appeared in the book. Apparently, the detective uses a really good stain guard on her clothes.

The rope was back on the boat and Nancy raced back to get it. Ned had hit the bottom, and was able to lift her out of the mire. It was there that I learned such terms as "quagmire", and "mire".
