Whoa - Enid Blyton? Famous Five?

As a young reader I cut my teeth on Enid Blyton, and I still regard her with a sort of nostalgic affection. I do remember a quicksand scene in one of her books, but it was Timmy (the dog) who was in peril, not one of the kids. Timmy was rescued by the timely arrival of a lorry that just happened to be loaded wth planks of wood (at the age of eight I was less critical about deus ex machina plotting). I don't recall the title of the book, but I'm sure I would have remembered if it mentioned the Q word.

Anyone know what Verhangnisvolle means?

Here's a blast from the past... Axa! From Axa 2 The Desired. If anyone has better versions of this, by all means, please post them! :D

Ah, yes, I remember this one. I really like the thick, curviness of Axa's body and legs... all the more for the quicksand to latch onto. :)

Thanks for sharing!

Those are some nice new additions, but they certainly can't top that Axa scene. Somehow I missed it when you posted it last month... Amazing! The artwork is great, and it's like a story or video that one of us would come up with, a mostly-naked girl being disposed of in quicksand by a love rival...

If not, it certainly should be.... :D

I agree. Hard to top a classic like Axa. Let's hope someone tries one day...
