For some reason, the quicksand community is overwhelmingly straight and male. So it is true that the market is much smaller for videos featuring guys.

So, yes, female sinkers are much more popular here, but women as a group are definitely not more willing to sink than men are. Men are much more willing to sink for the camera than women. And men do much, much more off-camera sinking than women do. Sink-for-sink, the guys got us beat about 100 to 1.

The "Home Movies" section features a lot of guys for that reason.

The producer forums feature a lot more women because that is what sells well, but women don't exactly bang on my door asking to do this. I seek them myself.

I came close to producing male material but it didn't fly. You can read about why the project went south in my forum.

It's really a shame. I believe that there is an untapped market for good men-in-quicksand productions but for various reasons, it isn't happening. Some of the problem is that the men-in-quicksand lovers seem to have a terrible time finding each other and getting organized. I have tried to join men-in-quicksand forums/groups/mailing lists here and there, but mostly, after I do, very little actually goes on.

This is too bad since men do a great deal more non-commercial, just-for-fun sinking. If they could find a way to get organized and set up an exchange of some kind, I think they would be awash in good male mud-and-quicksand material for a fraction of the cost of female scenes.

Is it a location thing do you think? As in the men willing to do these sorts of shoots are just too far away or unable to get from where the producer or film maker is? I personally think it is an untapped market, maybe as already indicated not a huge selling point, but it seems an untapped segment that has for whatever reason been unable/unwilling to create anything, maybe?

I for one would volunteer but alas I am in the states, which raises the question is it all just a question of location?

I'm in the UK, but alas, I think the locations you have in mind are too far for me to drive too on my budget of not a whole lot. Otherwise, I'd be happy to be the model, so long as a kinda pudgy Scot is what you're looking for =p

Well, there certainly have been male mud video productions, it's just that there don't seem to be any new male video producers. It is most definitely not from lack of commercial viability...

A little history here. Few realize that the first deep mud videos were mostly male and were so successful commercially that they, by a strange mutation, lead to the creation of Messy Fun. Thing is, no one else ever made much in the way of male oriented videos even though they were very popular. It was my observation that it really didn't have anything to do with what people would buy, rather, it was sort of luck of the draw as to who was willing to go into the business of making mud videos. As it ended up, folks who wanted to film females stepped up but there was no one from the male oriented side of things who wanted to do the business side of things...

The first male videos were published in the late 80's as the Have Mud, Will Wallow series of nine two hour VHS tapes featuring somewhere in the neighborhood of a hundred separate video scenes. Most were male but there were a few female scenes thrown in when they became available. Strange as it may seem, in the 80's, it was the female scenes that were hard to come by...

The Have Mud, Will Wallow video series became too successful and ended up forcing the producer to chose between keeping his lucrative day job and enjoying mud or going into business to keep up with the growing customer base. Rob Blaine of what became Messy Fun was selected to take over the commercial side of things and given mudpit locations to film at. It turned out he was homophobic and never produced a single male only video even though he was a mud fetishist himself...

It never got better, no one ever wanted to do the male scenes. Part of that was because the bar for male mud scenes had already been set rather high and anything less then a full tilt ending would have been a let down after Have Mud, Will Wallow. And females scene did not require as much legal fancy dancing, no cum shots...

The demand for male mud videos has always been there but you will not find it often expressed here or on most of the other mud forums as they have come to be almost exclusively oriented to female mud scenes. What few male mud videos that have been made since Have Mud, Will Wallow are usually traded on gay oriented websites where they are more readily welcomed without the whole homophobe vibe found elsewhere...

So, let's get right down to it. Anyone here want to be in a male mud video or to do the commercial side of male mud? Or want to reissue the Have Mud, Will Wallow video series? If so, step and and I'll set you up with the mudpits and get things going. The offer has been made several times before but the only folks who have ever followed through were only interested in producing female oriented videos...

There's your offer, doubt it will be any different this time..

On locations:

Well...yeah...it's no problem to find quicksand-loving men as this forum is full of them, but back when I had (always male) sink partners, I sure bought a lot of plane tickets.

But it's not just location. A lot of men who sink for real are concerned about privacy. Sinking for personal gratification is not sinking for clips. These guys often sink in secret and will not show their faces.

If you're serious about a production and you plan to sell it to people, you definitely need a model release. You may be ahead of the game by simply getting a model/actor since that is what they do. Scour modeling sites or use Craig's List...something like that...contact professionals...and pay them for what they do.

And that is what producers here actually do. That's why they tend to produce things where they at least break even.

What I was thinking of was a loose conglomeration of quicksand-loving guys who sink for real who agree to tripod it, and then they trade their clips via FTP or file-sharing sites. That would not require plane tickets or model releases. It would be ridiculously cheap.

I am heterosexual, but other than my wife, female bodies are none of my business. I'm okay with strategically covered female bodies, sink and submerge, but would like to see a male sink naked, not stimulated, to immerse myself as if I was watching me go down

Perhaps there is a drive to have a section that you could login and see the material relevant to your sexual orientation rather than having to trawl through all the hetero stuff? I mean I suppose there are some concerns that it could potentially 'split' the community but aside from that? (I wouldn't want to see contention with any content being posted in the wrong sections i.e. we're all one community.)

I wouldn't mind being in one
