Wow, Boggy!
AWESOME is the only word for these videos!
The sounds a few seconds after the 10:00 minute mark in the first video were just nothing less than pornographic! Loved the sloppy sounds the mud made...
Then, your position in the mud in the second video at around the 3:00 minute mark made me so horny it was crazy! Looked like you were humping the mud - wish I could have traded places with you then!
Sure warmed me up on this cold winter day!
Thanks very much for sharing these awesome videos.

I am glad people are enjoying the videos.
It looks like it was quite worthwhile to eliminate the stiffer surface (shown here in the second and third pix) before making the video.
When I first viewed the video, I noticed how it looked as well.
At that point, I was supposed to lay on my stomach and pretend to be trying to pull myself forward, but only to slowly sink deeper laying horizontally instead. So, I stayed in place, making the movements over and over again, but only sinking a little bit, before getting back to more "serious" attempts at escaping.
Stay tuned. There is still more stuff coming up. I had 4 more outings (for a total of 11), 3 of which I came back with video(s).

Re: Boggy Man's Dramatic Sink Vids! Updated Feb 16'th, 2013!
On Wednesday, September 19'th, I had my 9'th outing of the season, where I finally had another on-camera dramatic submergence sink, thanks to me solving the problem of things being warm enough to sink deep, but were too cool to get my hair wet, especially during cleanup!
I finally bought a latex swim cap at Wal-Mart (can't remember if I used it for my off-camera sink on my previous outing or not
), which kept my hair and most of my ears (except for the bottom of the ears) clean and dry!
However, because it was so late in the season, the lower sun and shorter days resulted in finicky lighting, and shadows moving over my sinking area earlier than I had hoped.
The resulting sinking footage wasn't perfect, with the picture looking like it was almost (but not quite) black and white due to washed out colors, with a very high contrast.
A photo taken from the same side was a bit lower than the height the video was shot from, and looked normal!
I did my best to correct the image, finding the optimal settings to be an exposure setting at 64%, and saturation set at 81%, since reducing the exposure caused the color to become over-saturated. But, while it was fairly decent at the beginning of the sink, by the end of the sink, it deteriorated again, and couldn't really be corrected properly at the end of the sink, or during the escape.
If only I had done the scene half an hour earlier (2:30 pm instead of after 3), then the lighting might have been better, and no shadows would have moved across the scene.
But then, there was a slight breeze from the north that was coming up at that time which might have caused problems with the audio, although I did use a piece of cardboard to try to shield the camera with built-in mic from a north wind, the reason I chose to have the camera on the west side, pointing east, in the first place.
If I had the camera on the south side, facing north, then perhaps the image quality might have been better, but then I wouldn't have been able to block any north wind.
But, at least the mud was superb, and the air became calm!
Enjoy!
First, here is a short video of my feet making some very interesting sounds in some shallow thick clay near a lake I assumed to be Crescent Lake, the lake the road was named after. I wished it was deeper, and in an area that didn't have a trail leading down to it from the road (no color/lighting problems with this one).

Unfortunately, the main submergence sink scene I shot requires a bit of editing in addition to the picture quality adjustments (image problems were only in the sinking part, while the lead-in scene was okay), with the editing having to be done while my parents are out of the house and when I am not doing pruning work, opportunities that do not happen very often.
Rather than hold up the remaining videos from the 2012 season, I will get them out first, since I can get them ready faster. I will post this submergence sink after that. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Here is the after-sink scene, made with the picture quality corrections mentioned previously:
Quick! There is a 6' 2" man slowly suffocating beneath the thick doughy surface of this bottomless, deadly quagmire!
Click on the picture below to allow him to fight his way to the surface, where he can gasp for air
, and work his way up and out to solid ground!!!

Once again, Boggy Man, BRAVO! You truly have become a legend in the quicksand-enthusiast community. Just as much a legend is that incredible Crescent Lake mud pit. What I wouldn't give to have that in my backyard. It's fascinating to watch as the consistency of the quickmud changes with the seasons and over the years. Much gratitude for sharing your adventures with us.
