I usually sink chest deep in my dreams.

Re: Why is it that...
I have had a few dreams where I sink deep, but other times?
I have also had some of the dumbest quicksand dreams imaginable.
Now and then, I have dreams about a quicksand friend, or a group of my friends...and there's no mud in it at all. One example is that I dreamed that I was back in my high school classroom. The teacher was a quicksand guy and all the students were people I knew from this community that I had physically met.
Hahhhh? All these quicksand folk in one place and no quicksand? We're not even outdoors? What kind of idiotic dream is that?
I have dreamed that I'm walking the shoreline looking for mud and I dipped my feet into lots of shallow holes, but none of it was deep.
I have dreamed that I was at a very boring party given by rich people in a multi-story mansion with one of my best quicksand pals and we couldn't take how boring this whole thing was, so, we snuck away from the party together to go look for mud in the woods owned by this grand estate...but there was none.
I dreamed about a great, vast fantasy desert where I was on a trail looking for deep red clay...and I knew where it was and I was looking forward to sinking in it, but I woke up without ever getting there.
I also dreamed that I was at a quicksand pit with a quicksand friend and he stepped right into the muck and, a lot like that scene in "The Princess Bride", shot down like a rock dropped out of an airplane and was out of sight, under the mire and drowned, in about three seconds. And I stood there on solid ground, disappointed and puzzled and depressed...he was gone, what had I done wrong?
You'd think that since Dreamland is like a blank canvas, that the artist known as the subconscious mind would take good advantage of it and paint me a grand artwork full of sinky fun, awesome companions and wonderfully deep and scenic quicksand sites, but no, it draws dumb stuff like this for me.

That is more or less EXACTLY what I dreamt last night which prompted me to start this topic out of despair!
And I wholeheartedly sympathise with the knowing where to sink in the desert dream... waking up before the good part!
Then again, would it be more depressing to have an awesome sinky dream, only to wake up and not actually be able to replicate it in real life for various reasons (like WINTER! grrrrrr

I remember one I had with a friend of mine that we were both waist deep in it. I later told her about it and she didn't mind hearing about it.

Interesting topic. I have never had such a dream, not once that I remember. Never watched anyone sink, either.
(EDIT: never mind - I did, actually, I just recalled . It was like a movie scene with a female sinker)

Don't know why that is. I think in my case, when I dream about a beautiful lady (or even myself) sinking in some perfect quicksand, it is so unbelievable that I wake up.
