I am not familiar with Devil Dog so maybe that meets the criteria. But its not the one meant here. Here is another hint:

This film was based on a book, but although the book also had a quicksand scene it was a different character who went under and the criteria for the scene in the movie do not apply to the scene in the book.

Devil Dog Hound of Hell comes to mind. Also Hercules The Legondary Journey. I know this is two completely different things.

Nope, not Princess Bride. An amplification of the original trivia question may be in order. The woman in the scene in question is not seen in the quicksand AT ALL.

Here is yet another clue:

The daughter of the actress in the movie in question has also done a quicksand scene (so I am informed) but she is visible in the scene and does NOT go under.

So we're trying to guess a movie that has a quicksand scene, but we don't get to see the quicksand scene.
A woman sinks completely, but doesn't die in the quicksand, but never comes back out of it?
It's a little confusing.

I can't guess a mOvie, but here's what I've deducted so far.
If we don't see her in the quicksand, then it must be discussed in the movie and not shown, like a legend of a woman sinking, or a news article.
And if she sinks completely and doesn't die from the quicksand, then she's either immortal like a witch or something, or she gets killed some other way and they dump her body in quicksand.

I don't know, I'm stumped.
