Silent sinking scenes?

Hi!
I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on sinking scenes without dialogue?

I remember a scene from the Sinking About You series from MPV and one of the most effective ones for me was by - damn, can't recall who... who never said a word as she struggled, then pleaded with her eyes, then slipped under. All we heard was her heavy breathing, and the wet sounds of the mud.

Now, I love dramatic scenes with all the yelling and pleading and all that... but wondered if there is any desire for an occasional sinking sequence where the heroine/victim doesn't say anything... I'm not talking about a silent movie concept, just some explorer, or native girl or cave lady or nudist or whoever who gets into trouble, knows there isn't anyone around for miles, and instead of calling for help, struggles silently to try and escape. All we hear is the sounds of nature, the slurping and slapping of the mud/peat, and the breathing of our sinker as she struggles. Maybe at the end, she utters a quiet whimper or two, then we hear her breath bubbling on the surface of the quicksand as she submerges.

Just wondering if anyone else would like to see something like that on occasion.

It was Janice and it is also one of my favorites.

It's a concept that can be applied to several ideas, and could be of some use in scenes.

I like the idea as well!

Some of the most effective Quicksand Comics drawn have been those where the damsel gets stuck, struggles, and slowly, inch by inch, sinks to her doom.

I must say that Kristine Lynn in her "White Bra and Panty Sink" from MPV's Young Lady, Deep Mud did an outstanding job of doing this with very few words throughout the scene. We mostly heard her grunting as she struggled and the sucking noises of the thick mud as she sank into it and pulled her legs and feet from it... and when it comes down to it, her grunting and the mud's squelching was all that was needed. Kristine's overall dialog was very random and occasional, which made it all seem so natural since she was concentrating more at just trying to get free of the mud rather than screaming and yelling for help. Only towards the end did she start saying a lot of things.

The vast majority of scenes I have done, whether they be dramatic, sensual, or playful, have been done with little or no speaking if they were done at my own locations.

The reason for that is simple and has nothing to do with my preferences. Some of the mudpits just aren't that far from trails. I don't REALLY need any help -- in real life, help would be extremely unwelcome -- so it's best not to yell for any.

It wouldn't be a particular stretch to do something silent-movie style at all. I guess there is a reason I don't, though.

I've kind of, sort of gotten the message from others who have tried this that when you go black-and-white and grainy plus kill the sound, while some people appreciate the artsy aspect -- there are lots of guys who suddenly won't buy the scene because they don't like anybody messing with their picture quality and they want to hear the mud slopping!

The only cure for this would be to release the scene two ways! One silent, and one hi-def with good sound and all that!

FYI, I was thinking more along the lines of no dialogue save for the heavy breathing of the struggling lady rather than a completely silent film... but I have no problems with that, either...

I would agree with those that prefer the 'silent' sort of video. The whole bloody 'help me I'm sinking' bit really does nothing for me personally.
