I think I'm still stuck in one of the pits there and can't drown myself, or pull out of the pit. And there's no one to help me get out.
I once got an e-mail that asked ME to help with something like that...I know it wasn't you...I don't know who it was, though...
Anyway, just for the record, I wouldn't have a clue!

Re: Deepsinking.org?
I saw this problem occur repeatedly. There were two solutions. One was to get the person who wrote the SI code to go into the database and fix the problem. This was more or less impossible toward the end. The other was to get someone else to go to the site, buy enough drinks at the restaurant to cause death by alcohol poisoning, bring them to the person who was stuck, give them to the person who was stuck, and then that person could drink everything and die of alcohol poisoning. Then you disappeared and were no longer stuck. The old SI had a lot that was interesting and fun but it tried, in my opinion, to add too much too fast, with the result that it began to suffer breakdowns.
Studio 588 currently offers more than 2200 different HD and QD quicksand videos and has supported production of well over 2400 video scenes and other projects by 20 different producers. Info may be found at:

Whoever thought of that gets high marks from me for thinking outside the quicksandbox.

Doubt it. I only logged into Sinking Island maybe twice. Once it was because I had a shoot coming up with Fred and it was the best way to find Fred.
Never touched the roleplay stuff. I don't like software that does stuff on its own.

Yes there were turbulent times (that I am not entirely blame free for) but the community went through an evolution for the better that created this wonderful forum!
I don't think anyone is bashing deepsinking.org. I do believe your point is very well taken though. The fact that there have been so few changes on QSF since the opening day testifies to the lessons learned at DS about how we really wanted things to work. Speaking as a moderator we have had very, very, few bad moments here with users and technical problems have even been minimal. Hopefully we can continue this into the future.

It's a dirty job but I got to do it for 27 years. Thank you.

Sinking island was a bit before my time coming into the light from being a lurker. XD
It was mainly the feeling of this forum that kinda coaxed me out into the open a bit.
But all in all, it sounds pretty neat, having rp software, I think it'd be very fun had it worked with no bugs.
But all in all, this is the forum of choice, I'm glad something like this exists, really showed me we're not alone out there.

Oh man I remember that site. I remember when they announced the "changes" and everyone thought it was an April Fools joke, so nobody took it seriously! But, of course, it was real and everyone left.
What I didn't understand about the "changes" was quicksand is a fetish sport. It's not something "clean" and wholesome. So why they decided to make it a PG13 site I don't understand.

There have been efforts to make "adult" sites more responsible for not showing things to children, including on a local level since they feel they can "force" a site to clean up that's normally free and clear by national laws. I expect that DS either had an incident, or they were dreadfully fearful of having a serious incident. I'm fairly sure they had bannings of underage accounts with some regularity. This is especially as lawmakers have gone bonkers with adding in mandatory sex offender list registration for all sorts of "sex" related crimes, and it could be extended to operators of adult website having children signed up.
