Help starting Second Life

I honestly have no clue what to do in second life, I don't know how to make any money or where to find good places with quicksand, or even how to buy things, can someone help a clueless guy out?

Others can help direct you to quicksand hotspots (or, well, soft spots). As far as making money is concerned, you should remember that Second Life is a simulation, not a game. Linden dollars is purchased using real money. There are some ways to get funds without using real money, but such methods offer very little and infrequently. There is, however, plenty of quality free items that you can get with a little searching. Make ample use of SL's search function (CTRL+F) to find things you want.
