First Successful Sinking Expedition

Hey everyone! After years of dreaming and obsessing (and lurking on this page), I finally went on a real hunt for quicksand. It was only around thigh-deep, but it still gave me quite a thrill! Fortunately I’m pretty short so it doesn’t take much for me to sink an appreciable amount. The spot was right next to a creek with really soft mud at the bottom, so that was definitely a bonus as well. Anyway, I hope you all enjoy the snapshot of this experience I had

Congrats on finding a good spot to go sinking! Looks like you had a great time.

I know from personal experience that it's hard to find a place to sink that isn't right in the middle of a public area or near a trail frequented by people. The ones I've visited here in the PNW often have way too many mosquitoes in the air or sticks in the ground lol.

Did you use Google Maps or some other means of finding it? Hope you are able to go back to that spot or somewhere else before the weather gets colder.

Looks great! I had a similar experience. After years of lurking and being on this site, I started real sinking a few years ago and it has been quite a thrill. Then I found a female friend to join me and it has been fantastic! We went from thigh deep, have both gotten past waist deep and really stuck, we are searching for chest deep but hard to find bottomless. Private areas and cleanup are the biggest challenges, but with research and experience they are out there.
