Night sink in Oklahoma

Good morning, all!

I stumbled into more Oklahoma clay last night while waiting to meet up with some friends (they ended up ditching me). While I was waiting, I noticed a little pond and decided to check it out. Well, one step led to another and before I knew it, I found myself thigh deep in sticky, thick Oklahoma clay. I was alone with spotty cell service, but managed to call someone to come help me. It was concerning how trapped my legs were and how quickly I sank. I truly would not have gotten out on my own… my heeled boots were locked in by the clay. To make matters worse, I couldn’t reach the boot zippers on the inside of my leg so I couldn’t slip out of them. I was quite literally trapped and at the mercy of the clay.

Wow! Loving the choice of outfit! Looks like you were really trapped! Did you take any videos of the experience?

Thank you! I really was trapped… I was actually quite scared and lucky I was able to get ahold of my friend on the phone to help me get out. There really was no way I’d get out on my own! It felt like cement with how locked in my feet were.

So glad you got out ok! As usual, you're always wearing a nice outfit, those boots look rather scary to get stuck in though! Have you considered taking something like a sturdy garden trowel to dig yourself out with?
