The translation software you've been using has been making a lot of errors. I can't think of a service that does good russian-english off the top of my head, but I imagine there are better ones out there. For now I think it would be prudent to post the russian text along with your translation, so that people can also run it through the translation services of their choice. Each service will no doubt have its own way of misunderstanding idioms, but enough 'second opinions' can clarify the intended meanings. And finally some people also enjoy the air of mystery, how not everything is explained in a foreign text.
