San Diego area mud

Hi all! I’m going to be traveling to San Diego in February and was wondering if anyone knew of any good mud spots over there. I’m from Tennessee so I’ve spent very little time on the west coast. Is it similar to the east coast where you’ll a decent amount of tidal mud? Or is that not a thing out there? Thanks in advance!

There are a couple minor tidal areas along the coast, but they are wildlife sanctuaries (most likely monitored) and surrounded by sprawl. Seems like the only thing happening in LA or Riverside counties (with probably similar conditions around San Diego) are very seasonal mud spots along the riverbanks. In fact, I just saw a Youtube video of a guy scoring a nice spot along the Santa Ana river.

There are better tidal areas up north, such as Bodega Bay and south of there. But it's not very sinky from what I observed.

If I was in LA or San Diego and needed a play fix, I would head up to lake Mead. Much better seclusion, although it's an overnighter at best. You actually have a better shot going I15 than what I had to do to get there from the Glendale/Burbank area.

One thing for certain though, the only decent tidal mud on the west coast is way up north, akin to where Joe shoots.
