The whole reason I started arguing about this thing is that ipkus1 said she was 18, and then in the very next post dlodoski's said that according to wikipedia Kim Possible is not 18.
So I decided to check wikipedia myself, and the only thing I could find on age was a thing saying "her age is uncertain", which pointed out that the final episodes were her graduating from high school. And I figured "well, I was 18 when I graduated, so... doesn't that mean she's 18? Or at least, 17 and 11 months or something?"
We don't know what dlodoski might have said in response to my find, as then you posted, and had the authority of being a parent have having considerable knowledge of Kim Possible. And you said it's a kid's show and she's underage 99% of the time in the series.
Do you consider 16 and 17 year old cartoon characters to be underage? 16 is the age of consent. Sure, a REAL woman would have to be 18 before it was legal for her to be in pornography, but you can't "exploit" a 16 or 17 year old cartoon character, what with them being fictional and all. If a cartoon character is supposedly old enough to be able to have sex with her friends if she so wanted, then I figure she's old enough to be in someone's dirty picture too.
But, if even a cartoon character's age must be 18+, I still don't see a problem, since she does hit that age in the show, and the original post said "she's 18", indicating that it is a picture of the 18-year-old Kim.
As I said at the start, I'm not that familiar with Kim Possible, everything I've said has been based on about one hour of internet research. And I don't have the perspective of a parent watching it with children. I'd expect that 90% of this forum isn't that familiar with Kim Possible either. We just see "high school girl", and we all know that at some point schoolgirls hit 18 and become "fair game" (if I may be so vulgar). Given that she spends a quarter of the show in "senior year", and the finale is her graduating from high school, it would seem like it doesn't take an imaginative leap to say "Kim Possible is 18". Indeed, even the factfile on the "Kim Possible wiki" says she is 18.
In theory a cartoon character's "actual age" in the show shouldn't matter, cause he/she is a fictional cartoon character. He/she has no real age, and it is easy enough to imagine an older version of that character. In the case of Kim Possible it turns out that isn't even necessary, since she hits that age in the show itself and still looks like the same-old Kim Possible. (And like her 35-year old mum.) So no magical reinvention required.
I'm really not that bothered about Kim Possible, but I was worried of a slippery slope where all kinds of characters from various TV shows and comics and games become off-limits because of questions of age. The way I see it, if it is a live-action show then really all that matters is the actual age of the actor/actress, rather than the character. If if it is a character from a cartoon or anime or game or book, then it just takes a bit of imagination to age the character a year or two. So the age of the chracter in the show, and who the show was aimed for, shouldn't be an issue.
Batman: The Animated Series and Superman: The Animated Series were on Saturday Morning Television but Harley Quinn, Lois Lane, Zatanna, Supergirl and Batgirl and several other female characters were really, really hot. Most of those characters were definately adults, but there's the chance that perhaps one of them was "actually" 17 years old or something. How old was Supergirl? Or Batgirl? I'm not sure, I think they may have been supposed to be "high school age". Though I think Batgirl appeared in several seasons and in later seasons was in college. So... I guess she's OK. But what about Supergirl? If according to the official lore she was 17, Does that mean Supergirl is off-limits?
