Does anyone think that they will eventually get bored with QS?

Postby mud_dreamer » Tue Aug 20, 2019 12:29 pm

Just wondering because after 2 or 3 seasons I am not as crazy about mud as when I started.

Maybe this is because I have found several locations that are pretty close and pretty good.

One of my first sink adventures was when I snuck into a quarry at night and played in the sand wash pit. It was real-deal quicksand. Yesterday I drove past that quarry and chuckled and shook my head that I did that. I have no interest in doing that again especially because getting caught would probably put an end to this fetish for me.

I also think that I am done sinking at night. Stumbling around in the dark and all the logistics of parking and travel just put me off now.

I will continue to explore but my standards are very high. Has to be great mud, easy access, daylight, and have a lot of privacy (public land or land that nobody cares about).

I also have a private mud spa/deck under construction. At this time I doubt that the mud spa will ever be completed. Too much work and there is a strong possibility that I will be moving within the next 5 years.

Sorry to sound kind of ho-hum about mud play. I am just wondering if anyone else has experienced this "adjustment".

Maybe it would help me to watch more QS videos. I like the wide-open natural locations. I like seeing people who enjoy sinking/mud play. Serious entrapment themes are the last thing that I want to see. Having scenes of that nature floating around in my head just makes me a little paranoid while I sink.

Thanks for reading,

Heck, I didn't discover coffee until I was 46 and if you take out food, sex, quicksand, girls in bikinis, and normal human pursuits it's all I care about.

I have pursued this fetish with some diligence for almost 25 years now if you don't include the rest of my life. Maybe you need to take up fishing or something less strenuous. We all get old at some point.
It's a dirty job but I got to do it for 27 years. Thank you.

Quicksand and mud ismy own, personal "Interest " that I've had since the age of about 9/10, and I have no intention of giving it up now. I expect it'll be with me until the day I pop my clogs. :D

That’s just Summer doing her thing a few weeks ago. She shaved her head for a heavy metal rock gig she does and is letting it grow back all pristine and pretty. You might not recognize her right away.

Yep. Chalk it up to aging and a couple injuries.

During my most-active years, I sank about twice a week all summer long. There was at least as much off-camera mudding as there ever was on.

But I noticed that the intensity of the desire started to seriously decline after I hit 50.

I am okay with it. I will not be sitting in some old folks' home saying to myself, "If only I had dared!" or feeling cranky that I never got to do the one thing that I really wanted to do.

Instead I can say that I did things that many others only dream about, without the courage to try.

As for your rising standards, that is quite natural. The novelty wears off. In the beginning, everything is mysteriously wonderful, but over time you learn what you like and what you aren't that thrilled by. You develop favorite locations. The first deep mud I ever experienced was actually very gritty -- but I didn't understand that at the time, because I hadn't sunk in anything better.

I rejected nighttime sinking too. I only snuck out at night to hit the mud once. What happened? I only got knee-deep. And I gashed my foot. Ouch. No fun at all.

I can see that now. I really like Summer's new brunette look. Mind you, her blonde look wasn't bad either ! :D

Nobody will ever drag Quicksand out of my head. And that's cool.

But I don't want to keep shooting beyond the point that degraded physical ability effects the quality of my videos. I'd rather go out on top.

After 20+ years of shooting, I look forward to 'normal' summers - and travel for sake of travel and adventure.

i will never lose interest with sinking!

But i have to admit, that i got very spoiled over the time of my (deep) sinking career that now lasts about ten years. I have a couple great locations with different types of mud that allow sinking as deep as i want. As i have mentioned last year, i had to move away from them for real-life reasons, but i still visit these places a couple times a year and i'm totally uninterested in exploring new ones as these simply cannot be better.

The thing that worries me a bit, is the search for new thrills as i have done already so much, including getting stuck while deeper than my head, sinking so deep, that my snorkel was in danger of getting flooded and lots of fall/winter sinks.
