Sinking Archaeologist (22nd pic added)

Postby Aiko » Sun Sep 16, 2018 7:30 am

Lara is at it again. Tomb raiding that is. And she has made an amazing discovery.

I thought someone should do a classic Lara Croft quicksand render since a new game in the series has just been released. Though it does not feature quicksand, Shadow of the Tomb Raider at least has some very nice mud in it.

Great concept. I'm going through the TR series at the moment and it's just begging for another QS mechanic.

I don't think there will be any more quicksand in future TR games, but then again I was really surprised that they added mud to the latest game the way they did. So who knows...

Anyway, Lara seems to be getting deeper into trouble. Enjoy!

Nicely done! I think I prefer the second even more to the first.

Can't see much of her face in either one, though. (Just an observation, rather than a criticism.)

Funny you should say that. I think you will like the one I am currently working on... ;)

Excellent! I especially like the texture of the mud/quicksand.

The angles of view are also great choices - one low, the other high above - as a photographer, I really appreciate that.

These are nicely done. Love how you did the lighting on these to create shading that enhance the lovely curves, muscle tone, and skin tone on her arms and breasts. I like your use of different camera angles to capture the drama of the scenes.

You can almost feel Lara STRETCH her arm out in the first image, desperate to reach the stone ledge as the quicksand's suction pulls her back and draws her in deeper ever so slowly. I really like how you did the second image as Lara now turns her attention the the mud sucking her in deeper. I like how you have her mired deeper and I love the positioning of her arms and head as the muscles of her arms flex when she pushes down upon the mud's surface. I also like how you've depicted the quicksand clinging to her left wrist and stretch up, hinting that the sticky ooze is gripping her arms and lower body like glue.

Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for all the praise! It feels like the time I have invested into dabbling with Daz3D is finally starting to pay off, though there is of course still plenty for me to learn. Eg. I did run into a few unexpected issues rendering this 3rd image.

But now it's finally here. Enjoy! :D

Ooh, nice! I like how it came together, it's good to have a front shot.
I think my biggest critique is that it's a bit dark, I think it's a little tough to see some of the nice details. Otherwise, very good!
