To my vocabulary, narrating means describing what is happening rather than acting it out, and talking out loud would be any form of audible speech. "Its up to my thighs now" would, I think, almost certainly be narration but "this must be quicksand," would not necessarily be, depending on vocal emotion.

BogDog wrote:I would have to say talking out loud during an accidental sink takes away the believably of the scene, though some members seem to prefer it. "This must be quicksand" or "It's up to my thighs now" are fine for intentional or staged sinks, but have no place in a moment of severe distress.

I guess the best example of a realistic scene to me are the ones performed by Kelli on the "Quicksand Terrors" dvd (my favorite). She stumbles into real quicksand, gets caught and starts to fight and struggle to get free in a believable manner as she gradually sinks. Sadly, most of the others had too much scripted speech except for Danielle's scenes, which were also well done and almost as believable as Kelli's.

When I see a post for a new dvd and I see nothing but watery peat and "Hollywood" quicksand in it, I just move on. That's just me, I guess. My eye for detail is also at times my curse.

Regardless of the semantics I find myself torn between the two. At times I'd like to hear almost a play-by-play "narration" if you will and others I prefer what I call "animal noises". I once thought the difference was between erotic and dramatic scenes but then realized that I often found the narration to be erotic. I have recognized that my "curse" is almost the opposite of BogDog's in that I have an almost Ed Wood ability to ignore everything wrong and go along with the scene. Getting it completely perfect is great however like most sex it can be better but it's never bad.

Wouldn't it be great if there were really only one correct way to do this? :)
It's a dirty job but I got to do it for 27 years. Thank you.

For a while, I thought that the sound of tree frogs was the sound of the South, at night. Fortunately though, it seems to be a localized thing.

I was actually referring more to the daytime scenes. Like Stormy's Hangover Cure (which I recently purchased off of UMD), a good scene but in the first half all I could hear were cicadas haha....

Understood. That was shot in 2013, the one year we had an actual cicada bloom at Camp MPV (you could see all the holes in the ground where they came out).

Even so, that was a solo scene, featuring a person not feeling well - and therefore not saying anything. Whatever background noise there was was pretty much going to be predominant. But having said that, if that scene ever gets re-visited, I will take steps to tone down the singing. ;)

Nah, then there'd only be one kind. :P

In my opinion, it comes down to tone of voice and acting ability. In a dramatic scene, if the actress can say "It's up to my thighs!" but her delivery of the line makes it actually say "Oh no, the quicksand is already up to my thighs!" then it's great!

I've always been more of a fan of the 'lone damsel cries for help' type of dramatic video than the 'damsel begs to the camera for help' type, though, so that has probably made me more amenable to the narration overall, since a sinking woman in the middle of nowhere ought to provide /some/ kind of commentary.

...oh, and since it's my first post in this thread, I ought to actually answer the subject question, huh? I really really like sexy scenes that take a dramatic turn, like the Ignorance Is Bliss series, and would definitely love to see a twist on the Mud Addiction series that turned dramatic at the end too. Also a big fan of compounding scenes with bondage or a gag whenever the actress is up for it. The one thing that I've been looking forward to but don't think has been done yet is an actual dramatic scene in MPVBleck, which if pulled off by Nyssa, Summer, Kendra James, or Star, would probably put me in a coma for a week.

Another huge fan of the "Ignorance Is Bliss" type scenes here. The progression from playful to "terrified but too horny to stop" is something that just does it for me. IIB Anabell is probably the best of that bunch IMHO.

Two other scenes that really stick in my mind along those lines are "Kim's Mud Dress" (might not have the title exactly right) along these lines, she absolutely NAILED the submergance in that one, the way her facial expressions go back and forth as she goes under is awesome. The other scene (can't remember the title of this one) was also with Kim, and Gummi, where Kim basically rides Gummi under and then yells "No wait come back!" before going down herself. Funny and hot.......

Turnoff #1: Mediocre acting. You don't have to win an Emmy but line delivery has to be believable for me to get into a scene.

Turnoff #2: Sudden Submergences. It really kills the scene for me to have a good slow sinking progression, but then have the pretty lady in question suddenly dissappear as if yanked under. A fast sink is ok, but the progression needs to be linear.

Wants / Desires: I know most people aren't into this but I would love to see some more sinking scenes with plus sized models, I've always been drawn to curvy, voluptuous ladies. Great example in terms of body type would be Tess Holiday. I won't post any off topic pics but Google is your friend. :)

I prefer to see "casual sinking". Any sex or nudity and i'm just done. That probably sounds stupid but yeesh, i just don't want to see that kind of stuff.

Also every single one of those sound effect videos on Youtube.

Likes:
I do like when the solo female actress smiles and looks at the camera before getting really stuck. Sensual breathing is very good. The Krystal video is a perfect example of what I like in a QS video. I like deep thick mud with some risk-taking portrayed. Thick desert/quarry clay is my favorite.

Dislikes:
I do not like it when, either solo or multiple women, giggle and laugh too much. I do not care for mud wrestling either. I think the scene looses its sensuality. I also don't like watery mud that does not coat the actress(es). Mud with too much vegetation is a turn-off for me because I keep thinking of insects, leeches, snapping turtles, snakes ... long list here.
