Nanny interviews The Quicksand King! Or... the beginning of a long slow decent.
Thank you to my friend Guhzcoituz for this commission.
I love the look of concern and confusion on her face. I had requested this commission after I found a previous work by Bill Ward that is very similar. In this image it appears that she has discovered by accident a patch of Quicksand under a small body of water. Knowing that struggling makes you sink, or being unable to anyway, she reaches to her companion.
Obviously there appears to be plenty of time for a rescue... and playful teasing. "Hold on... don't go anywhere. There has got to be a vine around here somewhere. Be right back."

Is there any chance that this could turn into a story? Love the artwork and would love to see a story board with these characters. Great job!

Re: Deviant Art commission
That is a sound idea for sure. I would submit each and every different pit that has graced our eyes here at quicksandfans. Peat, clay, Hollywood and the Bleck. I would even introduce the old sand type pits.
The female character is based on Nanny Dickering and Cracked Magazine from the 1970 to the late 80s. She interviewed many types of characters but this time there would not be a single ""King" but many of our pioneers of our time. Not put a fine point on names but everyone would be there.
This is a commission I asked to have done. It took him a bit of time to get done, but I'll see if he would like to continue. Frankly... I would like to see this continue as well. Nanny Dickering was my girl back in the day way back when.
Thank you for the kind comments! I'll let the artist know.

I remember your previous thread where I did a manip of N. Dickering by modifying a strip where she was conducting a portion of an interview in a swamp. Here it is again fro those who missed it the first time around (scroll down to my post for the altered images): viewtopic.php?f=21&t=12400&p=86674&hilit=dickering#p86674

Yea Bogdog that was an awesome piece of work on your part thank you! Nanny Dickering in quicksand is pretty close to being Holy Grail material for me. DAZ and great artists are making some art that is truly gorgeous.

Forgot to ask if this will be part of a sequence of some sort. It's a great stand alone piece, but I keep wishing she'd sink.... deeper...

Aaaaand I neglected to state.

This image was simply inspired by another image done by Bill Ward, and I was testing the waters with this particular artist. There is nothing in the works... now.
Having said that, I do intend on doing something with another artist, and this one as well. I am waiting on a 3rd to do an actual sinking sequence which will be very different than anything we've seen here. I've been a bit reluctant as this artist is into snuff and a pretty corpse. Not my cup of tea but this may not pan out.
