I have a new toy. Its a scanner that seems to do a really good job of scanning older, film-based photographs into digital format. It can even scan negatives. I have not yet tried the features for things such as dust and scratch removal but it is supposed to be able to do that as well.
After a few weeks of practice I should be able to offer to do this sort of scanning, of pretty much anything that is legal to scan up to the size of the machine, for anyone who might want to preserve old photos in a modern format.
