With or without tossing the body in a swamp? ;)

His body was tossed into a swamp ("Slaughter Swamp"), but it was into water, contaminated by barrels of biohazardous material from Indian Hill, a facility where crazy (psychotic and genetic) experiments were secretly done on people living and dead (who were brought back to life), turning them into freaks.

Cool! Thanks for that! :D

Okay... found another one.

Green Lantern is tied to a log and sinking in yellowish mud, while Green Arrow is having some sort of crisis. GA snaps out of it to take out the bad guy, but we don't see him rescue Green Lantern. He is a-OK of course.

I posted the two pages of sinking, then GA getting into action.

As I recall, the two Asgardians teleported away to... "Midgard! Home of Mortal Men! Here, beyond the reach of the Enchanters, shall we be SAFE!"
Safe? In New York? In the 70s? I'd hate to see what they thought of as unsafe......
"Aaaaaarrrrrrggggghhhhh! Quicksand! I'm sinking! I'll go straight to the bottom of.......GLURP!"
(a month later)
"Ugh! Yukkkh! Ptui! I'm out of it! I'm free! Not even quicksand can defeat the power of.....the Eye of Zoltec!"

I had that comic as a child! Scared the bejeezus out of me, but I couldn't stop reading it over and over again.

I never saw it before, but whenever there were such scenes, I also tended to check them out a lot. :D Amazing how such scenes burned their way into the brain. (Besides all the movie scenes, of course...)

A couple of comic book ones which stayed with me before I encountered this fine community 20 years ago...

The Marvel special (1976) on Hound of the Baskervilles, when Stapleton gets sucked into the mire.

A Dagar the Invincible scene when this curvy lady pushes a bad guy sorcerer into quicksand - and he slowly disappears. I was obsessive about finding it again until I did! :D

A scene featuring Andy Panda and Charlie Chicken, when they get trapped in really gooey quicksand... they get rescued, but there really wasn't any way out for them otherwise.... despite being a funny animal comic, that scene is as dramatic as any MPV/Studio 588 one.

These were all long before I made the delightful connection of sexy ladies and quicksand.

All of these have been posted on this thread... you just have to search a bit if you're interested. :)

I've got that Roy Rogers book. It's called The Ghost of Mystery Rancho. The quicksand scene spans two chapters! The edges of those pages are far, far more beat up than the rest of the book ;)

Here's a cool one.... involving The Flash and Kid Flash. Alien from the future wants to tap into the Flash's speed force, so he devises all these traps for them, including quicksand. Here's the quicksand bit. Needless to say, the Flash survives this apparent doom.

Here's a treat... I found a new reprinted version of The Island of Pirate's Doom, the original which has been posted here before, but this time it has been colorized. You may like this version, or the black and white original.... but I think it is worth posting. :D

I added a page of swamp slogging, just because it sets the mood nicely.

Very nice. Once you've had the feeling under your own feet it adds even more. :)
It's a dirty job but I got to do it for 27 years. Thank you.
