Rundown of Episode 1:
Guest: Fifi Abdou - Famous Egyptian belly-dancer, actress. Known for portraying "strong woman" style characters.

Large curvy Female guest, accompanied by man and young woman (the ones in on the prank) and driver, who speak English and Arabic intermittently. Driver plunges the car down a slope and into the pit. The pit is REALLY nicely set up. It's brown and patchy, and actually looks like a real sinkhole in the middle of the desert. It looks damp as well (the guest's clothing looks wet, and there's some sloshing sound, plus the dirt sticks nicely on the victims). So it's watery, but the top layer covers the pool really nicely.

Driver gets out of the vehicle to get help, but is pulled under, leaving the backseat passengers with the guest to escape via the roof. They stand up on the roof until the vehicle is pulled under, and they are stranded up to their chests/shoulders while the host, Ramez Gallal, crawls towards them in his lizard suit (with remote controlled tongue). When he reaches the guest, he flicks dirt into her face, and then the crew reveals the prank. They pull the victims out, and the guest has a go at giving Ramez a well-deserved beating.

Pros:
- Amazing pit.
- Great scenario. The crew pull it off really well, and it's a great QS fantasy for many of us.
- M/F peril, for those who are into either/or/both.
- The supporting crew play their roles nicely. They bob up and down with the fake pit believable, sink deeper and shout for help. The female support crew in this one has a nice background role, and more pleasing to watch than the guest.
- Lots of rescue footage.
- Some amazing birds-eye views, but very brief. The car really drives out into the middle of the pit and they can't get out.

Cons:
- The show's style has a lot of jump cuts. There's a sequence of more than 3 seconds without the camera changing angles, or to Ramez doing a commentary (you're kind of meant to hate him).
- The guest is EXTREMELY scream-heavy. Lots of censoring, for minutes at a time. Holy crap - aneurysm indeed.

And Please , No need to be that offensive at the origin country/culture of the show that has nothing to do with the show , I was having fun with all of you until a recent comment by one member that made me little uncomfortable , This is a forum where we enjoy Quicksand scenes so no need to say unnecessary offensive Off-Topic things

As for The Victims Treatment , Outside our enjoyment of the Quicksand Sequence then Of Course I don't like those life threaten Pranks but The Truth is a lot of the victims through the years knows about the prank and are Pre-Paid while the other non-Informative ones gets Paid in a Very HUGE way and air the episode only with their approval

"Offensive" comments made in a blind rage at the show's producers deleted BUT ... were we all really expected to offer no objections to this vicious behavior?

It would have helped to know up front about the victim payouts, etc., though I would still shed no tears if one or more perpetrators got sent to the hospital or mortuary over this.

Thanks for the mechanical engineering link which I found far more enjoyable.

I found this episode to be quite good.

The Quicksand pit is especially good - as someone who has built more than one over the years, I know how hard it is to construct such a pit. To have one large enough to swallow a Jeep is mind boggling!

BTW Paris Hilton was a victim in one of those pranks ( The Plane one ) and she got a very nice cash participating in it , it is unknown whether she knew about the prank or not

PARIS HILTON FAKED HORROR IN 'PLANE CRASH' STUNT ... In on the Prank

From the article:

TMZ has obtained a document prepared by the Egyptian production company behind the prank. Turns out Paris wasn't their first choice. The company sent the offer to the reps of other American celebs back in March, offering them big money to participate in the prank.

The document states, "We will act as if something is going wrong and ask all passengers to jump off the plane!!! Of course everyone will panic, we'll be having skydivers in disguise with us on board."

The doc goes on, "We will monitor the funny reactions from our celebrity guest when they fear jumping off the plane."

And the document even mentions the stunt has the blessing of Dubai authorities ... "Dubai official authorities are monitoring this show and providing us with security. If you want to make sure, you can contact the office of crown prince of Dubai, his majesty Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum. He himself will be supervising the progress of the project."

Sources say the production company offered a huge amount of money to a willing celeb ... in the million dollar range.

We got Paris out Wednesday in Bev Hills, and listen closely ... she talks about the pilot "taking it too far." The question ... what, if anything, was she expecting?

Not sure how reliable TMZ is as a news source, but other news sources corroborate this story.
