Hey Everybody,
Here's my latest test. One thing that can affect how well dynamics like hair and cloth works is the scale of the geometry. I noticed that when I import a poser scene into Lightwave, the scale is pretty small. For example, a poser girl standing upright in Lightwave is about .74 Meters, or about 2.43 feet. Not many girls I know are that short.
When I bring a poser girl into Real Flow to do quicksand, slime, or water, I have to increase the scale of the girl and the other geometry by a factor of 25x to get to fluid to look and act right. So I decided to try that in Lightwave and increased the scene scale by 25, then reran the hair simulation.
Here's the test motion of my Sarah character that I hope to use to do the Sarah's Island movie. A definite improvement, but still not ideal. It still acts funny over the shoulders, but only when it's moving quickly. One thing I may do is simply keep the hair short enough so it never touches the shoulders. I'd prefer not to do that, but there are a lot of good hair styles that go from just short of shoulder length to a bob.
I'll keep at it!
