nah who here wants solid quicksand lol

Solid quicksand... no, that would just be... erm... the ground! but quicksand that suddenly magically solidified at chest depth is a whole different story and would make for quite a struggle, I think there are quite a few here who would find that exciting, myself included! ;)

While this could probably be done with actual sand, I suspect it might be rather hazardous, and quite possibly fatal, to the performer. Solid is solid, and that means it does not move. Breathing requires movement of the walls of the chest. And if the solid sand did prevent breathing there would not be enough time for a dig-out.

It actually has been done several times and the performers all survived! Robert from PRP has buried several ladies up to their neck in dry beach sand, including a couple of scenes featuring Clayra and Veronica in such deep holes that they were standing up straight while buried.

Also, Candle recently did a custom for me where she was tied up and buried up to her shoulders in a back yard with very heavy clay-like soil, again standing up straight!

There's also this crazy guy who voluntarily got completely buried in a 7ft deep hole!: http://www.slavebound.com/my-experience-buried-seven-feet-deep.html

All of the above were all able to breathe in these situations, although admittedly they did find breathing a lot harder than normal, but the sand/dirt does provide just enough freedom of moment to allow breathing.

What you describe is true. However, I believe all those examples were done by putting the performer in a hole and backfilling it. That is different from having a liquified "quicksand" lock up. That lock up can happen suddenly, which also means unpredictably, and, in my experience, the result can be considerably more compacted that a recent backfill.

Fred is right about that one. Filling in around someone with dry soil is something they can endure for a substantial time. On the few occasions I've been around when actual quicksand solidified, and I was with Fred at least once when that happened, all the spaces are filled in to the moment of the last movement and it's like concrete around a fence post. I've had the experience myself at around knee deep a couple of times. I've had it happen to ladies at hip/waist deep and it's no fun. At chest deep it would quickly become a very bad situation.
It's a dirty job but I got to do it for 27 years. Thank you.

Tirah's waders flooded, she sank quickly.

Another:

Abigail went under, then blasts of bubbles.
(I know that's 7 words but I couldn't make it make sense otherwise.)

3rd one:

Past her waders' rim, Tirah sank.

In both of the Tirah ones, I am referring to chest waders. But I can't specify that in 6 words.
I’m not the person I was in 2016.
