One Life to Live (1990) (F)

Postby Tim » Fri Jun 20, 2025 2:02 pm

Hi

Some years ago the QS scene from this TV show went up on Youtube. Looking around recently, I found other copies of these episodes have been uploaded which look a little bit clearer than the ones I have always seen before.

The episodes are 40 minutes long and the QS clips are scattered throughout.

Hope these are interesting until we get pristine official versions on Blu-ray.

Yeah, substantial improvement in what we had before. I never got the fascination with soap opera type stuff but I guess we should be grateful they work for somebody. Good find. Thanks.
It's a dirty job but I got to do it for 27 years. Thank you.

I have always enjoyed watching this sequence, spliced together, even though it is a little hokey. Like, she sure could have just stepped out initially, right? But if you are an enthusiast, you just ignore these small realities, so long as it gets the heroine in deep enough to be stuck. The low branch was a good feature, right up to it inevitably breaking (but where was that branch when she wasn’t sunk in that deep?). When it was churned up near the end, the quicksand looked a bit like oatmeal, but the sand on top keeps it real.

Enough sarcasm. Her outfit is kind of nice, the acting is good, and the sinking sequences, when actually shown, are nice and slow. The rescue pull-out is well done. All in all a good scene. I never saw this on TV, as I also am not a soap opera fan. Thanks for posting this.
