Another Fear The Walking Dead scene (M,F)

Season 8 Ep. 11. Troy and Madison get dumped into some underwater quicksand that we don't actually see, but we do see them sinking a bit, including a water submergence. And we get to hear Madison say the 'Q' word. Not great, but not bad either.
I wonder if maybe someone on the Walking Dead crew is one of us. There's been several instances of quicksand, or quicksand-like scenes throughout the various shows. Madison, herself has been in at least two.

They actually start a bit more out of the water but not by much. Apparently all the zombies around them are also mired in mud.

I always loved the idea of underwater mud/quicksand. Unfortunately, it's seriously underrepresented in fiction.

I like the idea of it, but i always feel a little cheated when I see it in a visual medium. It's like the producers didn't want to bother with having to build a realistic looking pit, so they took an easy-out.

If the sinker is to be lost, going under in quicksand that is under water is a cheat. If one is going to drown in water, might as well not have the quicksand at all! Quicksand should be the "substance of death', not any water above it! That's my opinion and others will have theirs, as well.

My own preference is for the mud to NOT be underwater. However, I think it must be recognized that there are more than two possibilities. For example, and completely consistent with reality, a mud pit could be 99 percent mud but, due to a recent, or even concurrent rain, there might be patches of water and patches of mud. The fact of being almost all mud would become more apparent as the victim struggles and stirs things up.

I think a good example of this would be the "Incredible Hulk" scene with Bill Bixbey/Lou Ferigno. You couldn't see the qs at all at first because of the water and leaves, but as soon as it got good and stirred up, the mud looked great.
And, if I may be so bold, I tried my own take on this a few years back, here:
