You think he got to you too late? He went from you to me. Like, I don't say where I am exactly to protect my mudpits -- but he had to fly north a longggg way to get to me.
You can see the fall colors in the footage that was shot at my location.
Fortunately he was visiting me, the woman who used to film OctobRRR, NovemBRRR and DecembRRR clips of myself sinking in icy quicksand in waders with winter layers underneath just to wow you-all out. I got him into the mire, all righty, but he had to visit a sporting-goods store and buy his waders so he didn't freeze to death and then I had instructions on what he was to wear underneath. As for the weather, we just plain got lucky. It could have been pretty bad.
I too had a scene shot that I wish had not been cut because it was too hilarious.
We got to my "base of operations" (Nessie's favorite tree) and the leaves on the trees were going and the plants that usually hid me well were dying. And it's not that far from a trail. Our cameraman started freaking out, saying people could see us -- and he was really worried about us getting into trouble of some kind -- "Jedd, we can't do this"...and I couldn't figure out what this guy's problem was.
Turned out, Jedd had thought that you got TOTALLY NAKED to change into the winter sinking gear and he had told the camera guy this. So the camera guy thought that Nessie's Tree was too close to the trail and that we'd get busted.
No, that's not how it works, and I had thought I'd been totally clear on it in my email.
Except, it did work that way for Jedd only that day, because he had packed a total change of clothing and didn't want to go into the mudpit in the clothes he was wearing but in the clothes he didn't mind dirtying.
So he did change clothes in the weeds. And I did not. I just put the waders on over what I had on already. (How did he ever think anything else?)
I averted my eyes, so it's possible he didn't get totally naked. But I kept laughing.
