Never a bad time for a selfie,eh?

"Hashtag: Danger by Ahoy EIC Tom Peyer and Chris Giarrusso. May 1, 2019; $3.99.

Exploding from the pages of High Heaven, three scientific adventurers face strange creatures, lost civilizations, and supernatural threats–when they’re not too busy being complete jerks to each other.

Three heroes with three special skills: brains, strength, and unwarranted enthusiasm! Together they vow to confront fantastic perils and monetize them! But will their selfish bickering destroy the team? And why do they spell out "Hashtag?"

It's a brand new series coming out later this year. Not sure if the contents inside will match the cover, but it's possibly something to look forward to.

Covers are ususally done by a different artist and look better than contents.

How this one looks depends on who drew it. Here's 2 versions, the second looks less cartoonish:

I'd love to see an entire video scene that's got the impact, the over-the-topness, of a single comic book cover. That's art.
It's a dirty job but I got to do it for 27 years. Thank you.

I strongly suspect the reason we don't see this is the difference between a still drawing and video. In the sitll image the artist, or photographer, can concentrate on hitting four or five different details in exactly the right place. This might be done in a video sequence but I think it would have to be the four or five details in sequence, not all at once, with the effect of diluting the overall impact over time if nothing else. If it could be done all at once, of course, it would be a rather short scene. That is to say it might be a single frame long.
