Quicksand Fans

This past summer a new kind of bar took off in popularity in Tokyo. This bar, called Gata, is where guests can bathe in a giant tub of mud. Apparently it was really popular in the summer due to how the place had A/C and cooled guests off. According to news broadcasts, the mud is kept at 28 degrees celsius so it's also usable in the winter.



I found two videos of what it's like inside and a recording of a news broadcast of it. Most (pretty much all?) of the people in the mud in these videos are female.

See? It seems no matter which way I turn, there is yet another country that seems to know how to have more fun than us. Why can't we get something like this going in the States?
