Lucille Ball

Postby fp450+7 » Sat Oct 12, 2019 8:49 pm

Apologies in advance if this is already a well known scene (and it's more of the mud/wam variety than quicksand) but I thought I'd share this clip from the film The Long, Long Trailer (1954, dir. Vincente Minnelli). The character is Lucille Ball's character but I'm not 100% sure they didn't use a stunt double.

Anyway the quality's kinda shoddy but you get the gist of it.

They may have. That didn't look like Lucille flying out the door backwards.

It's been a long, long time since I saw Long Long Trailer.... Sad that Youtube wants to charge us 3 bucks to watch a very old film that I've seen on television for free several times before. I miss the old, non-money-grabbing 'tube. I use to watch full-length films and TV shows on it for free for years. Not anymore. :(

It is a very well known scene to many of us past a certain age. I was always surprised when my mother would laugh at this scene anytime it was broadcast. Look for the Lucy television episode with Jack Benny. :|
It's a dirty job but I got to do it for 27 years. Thank you.

Bear in mind that most of the time when people watched full length movies this way they were violating the copyright (that is the person posting the video was violating the copyright) and thereby stealing from the copyright owner.
Studio 588 currently offers more than 2200 different HD and QD quicksand videos and has supported production of well over 2400 video scenes and other projects by 20 different producers. Info may be found at:

Try this one - I remember watching it when it originally aired in 1967

Now that's the one I remember! I've only seen the last half of that scene. I found the rest of it funny and hilarious. I remember those Jack Benny styled sight jokes and gags
Tarzan to Jill Hardy: Girl be still. Not sink!!"
From "Valley Of Mystery" : Don't struggle and do not thrash around; that just makes things worse!
