Evidently, Ginger and Mary Anne weren't the only ones to end up neck deep in mud. The Skipper had his turn in the quicksand as well. No submergence in this one, although Gilligan has a moment or two of doubt.

Ted Turner colorized it for TBS yeas ago. If you're old enough the "Waiting for Watubi" episode is always in black and white. Call me weird but my biggest fascination with that one is Ginger and Mary Ann showing up in grass skirts at the end.

Gilligan himself finally had his own turn going down in the Harlem Globetrotters on Gilligan's island. I remember seeing it when I was a kid and that was when my fascination with Quicksand Started. After watching that scene every time I saw someone I thought was attractive I would imagine him sinking just like Gilligan. Amazing that Gilligan was the title character and yet it wasn't until the final tv movie that they managed to get him in the Quicksand. Oh well, better late than never.
