PMs taking long to send

I'm attempting a PM reply for the first time on this site, and in each instance, the message remains in the outbox for more than 30 minutes (until I decide to pull it). My internet connection isn't slow by any means, so I was just wanted to know if this was the server just taking a long time. Thanks!

Messages remain in your outbox until they are opened by the recipient.

Ahh, OK, thanks. I'm used to messages going right from "outbox" to "send" when they're delievered. Since I've re-started/re-sent messages three times now, will that person get copies of the same message?

They will receive whatever you left 'untouched' in your outbox.
