Hello all, normally just a lurker in the background, but I noticed your link url from http://www.mudpuddlevisuals.com/new.html links to http://www.quicksandfans.com/ and not http://www.quicksandfans.com/bb/

Just felt I would raise it as I thought the site had been down for a couple of weeks until I figured out the problem.

I just looked at that, having wondered why it was an issue. After all, that's what my bookmark is set up to go to as well.

But I never went to the root site after logging into the ./bb link. That's where the actual problem is.

It seems that, once you've accepted the cookie from the root site (http://www.quicksandfans.com/index.html) going back to the root site, without adding in the index.html to the root path, gives you an unformatted HTML site. None of the CSS or graphics are there.

I think what needs to be done is to change the HTML to check for a cookie, and if the browser shows a valid cookie exists then it redirects to the ./bb directory.

Kookus?

Of course, the other thing it could be is that the "DirectoryIndex" directive isn't set to look for index.html as the first possibility. Most Apache installations have the directive set as:

DirectoryIndex index.html index.htm default.htm index.php index.php3 index.phtml index.php5 index.shtml mwindex.phtml

But it doesn't seem to be working that way for the root site. So if the web host is setting it to something else it could cause issues. You could try changing it yourself in the .htaccess file, if your host has the AllowOverrides set up to permit it.

Odd. It's definitely a cookie issue... again. I never noticed this because all of my browsers are configured to dump cookies on session close. I'll see if there's an easy way to fix this without re-breaking the verification page.
