I will be upgrading to iPhone from 6yo Android. On the Android I can download and view the mp4 clips. I have an iPad 2yo. I can view the clips but not save them as I can on the Android. Can someone please educate me on what I need to download and view clips with Apple..

I stopped using products from Apple in 1985so I do not really know the answer but it is my understanding that it cannot be done directly. However, you can probably use some browsers to save the files you want to a storage account in the cloud, such as a Dropbox account.

Thanks Fred,

I was going to post to your site later. When I try to play clips there I just get a pop up screen with a symbol in it. Nothing plays at all.

Most likely that means the teaser you are trying to play has been taken down. Try it with one of the most recent scene releases.

It’s across the internet. Either it plays but I can’t download or they don’t play at all.

Sounds as though you device simply is not up to what you are trying to do.

Your iPad might be a little too old for this, but the most recent update to iOS 11 includes a new file browser system akin to the one on Mac. I'm not sure, but this might allow you to save files, like on Android.

Do a Google search on iPhone download files.

You will see quite a few links that address this. While I have not looked at any of those links myself (as I don't use an iPhone) the descriptions seem to mostly describe opening a file and then using a "share" link to save the file to Dropbox or some other cloud storage service. The main one talking about "share" specifies the Safari browser for doing this.

Thanks for the replies,

I was hoping to find the elusive silver bullet answer.

I've done quite a bit of researching and experimenting with my ipad for a month or so. the best luck I had was with xtreamplayer app. It allowed cut and paste of URL's that would then play. I had mixed results. MPV clip URL's played fine; on other sites I visit the video clips played very slo-mo even when the playback speed was maxed out. Fred, regrettably your clips resulted in "Unable to Load Video" message...

After all this I guess Apple just doesn't like us playing videos unless they come from ITunes....

What is working is uploading from my PC or Android phone to OneDrive then accessing from there. Everything works fine on both Android and Apple.

Again thanks for the replies..
