Sinking on Viewros Part 1: Fury Green

Postby Black Clay Lord » Thu Jan 22, 2026 9:50 pm

So I was playing Metroid Prime 4 Beyond, right?

I thought to myself: What if Viewros had quicksand?

So that brought forth this two-parter.
--------------------------------------
Planet Viewros. A vastly undiscovered world not monitored by the Galactic Federation. This wonderous planet has much to offer, though a truth presents itself: Viewros is a dying world. The only way to get to it is by a mysterious artifact, and leaving it requires the use of the Master Teleporter. However, Meltem Socrates, proud member of the ½ Mermaid Clan, was able to replicate the artifact’s power and transport myself to Viewros. And holy cow did it work.

She was expecting to have been transported to Chronos Tower, but instead… She found herself in the jungle of Fury Green. She could not believe her eyes. Fury Green was a sight to behold. The lush plants, the streams, the flowers… Everything about it was beautiful. Yet, Meltem could not help but shed a tear as she travels through the jungle. She could sense it… “This world… is dying…” Said Meltem under her breath. She knew this to be true indeed.

The Lamorn are essentially extinct. And sadly, the only thing remaining of this race are their mutant offshoots: The Grievers. Meltem knew deep inside her gut that she would meet some of the Grievers prowling the jungle. As a matter of fact, Meltem held her Plasma Rifle in hand. In a place like this, it pays to keep your guard up at all times. You never know what was going to come out & attack you in a sudden instant. Meltem wasn’t taking any chances for sure.

Meltem traversed the jungle still, watching for beasts that would attack her, and making certain to keep a very sharp eye on the ground. However, she doubted Fury Green had pits of quicksand. But, you just never know. Meltem soon entered a nice open area in the jungle, taking a breather to sit and relax for a moment. “Could the Lamorn have been saved…?” Meltem wondered. “If any of them survived, I bet they’d have a lot of stories to tell…” She then sighed.

But what was done has been done so long ago. The only thing Meltem was able to do was keep the memory of the Lamorn alive. She had found some artifacts related to them, and she had plans to donate them to a museum. Meltem soon stood up and resumed her way through the jungle, continuing on through the strange realm. To the ½ Mermaid, Fury Green was just about ready to unveil some of its deadliest hunters. But her feet led the way through the jungle still.

Soon, she heard a high-pitched noise. “The hell is that…?” Meltem cursed, raising her rifle up, ready to shoot. Sure enough, Meltem spotted 5 Grievers charging right at her. Meltem readies her rifle. “Okay, come & get me!!” She exclaimed as she takes aim at one Griever, and as it lunged at her, takes a shot at its chest, and effectively killing it instantly. Meltem took cover as the other 4 got close enough to attack her, though she was more than ready for the monsters.

She spotted a griever charging at her, but instead of shooting it, Meltem readied her flyssa, and with one swing of that sword, cleaved the lunging griever in two. She soon took aim at the three remaining grievers and without missing a beat, aimed at their expanded green chests as they prepared to spit acid at her, fired at each one, and killed them all instantly, ending their threat to her safety and putting them out of their prolonged misery. Meltem sighed.

“That takes care of them.” She said. “But… Damn it… I can’t help but feel bad for these guys…” Meltem soon moved onward through the jungle once again. But she spotted a rather unusual looking path a short while later. Meltem scratched her head. “That’s funny,” said Meltem. “I don’t remember hearing of a path like this one.” Curious nonetheless, Meltem decided to take the path to see where it leads. Was it a shortcut to the temple ahead?

Did it lead to a nest of grievers? Meltem did not know, and this is why she opted to investigate. Traveling the strange path, Meltem never missed a minute taking in the area’s beauty. She was in love with the sights but still mourned the fact that Viewros was a dying world. If it were to be discovered by normal means, could the planet be saved? Could it be terraformed? These were questions circling in Meltem’s head non-stop. Nevertheless, it all seemed possible…

But the methods of getting to Viewros understandably leave such possible tactics in doubt. As Meltem’s mind was wandering on the plausibility of trying to find a way to save Viewros from dying, her feet eventually stepped onto incredibly squishy ground. “W-What the…?” She suddenly muttered, looking down at her feet. The ground she stepped on suddenly became very muddy, and sure enough… The rest of the ground up ahead was also nice & muddy.

Yet it did not stop Meltem from moving further in. But she didn’t go very far as soon, all of a sudden, her leg suddenly sank down into the ground, right up to her luscious thigh. This clicked in Meltem’s head as to what she’s traveling on. “This is quicksand!” She exclaimed. “I thought it wasn’t on this planet!” But she knew that quicksand could occur anywhere if conditions were right, and this odd stretch of Fury Green proved to be absolutely no exception.

Meltem moved her free leg forward, which was her left leg, trying to get herself to move forward in the quicksand. Instead, her free leg sank into the quicksand, too. Meltem was now stuck in it and sinking slowly. However, Meltem was not too concerned about the fact that she was sinking in quicksand. No. Instead, she was more concerned about the predators lurking around Fury Green. The Grievers especially. If they found her here, she’d be a sitting duck.

Sure, Meltem would be able to blast many Grievers while she was stuck in the quicksand but avoiding them would be a different story. With her mired legs, Meltem wouldn’t be able to move as fast as she normally would. It’d be especially problematic if they were spitting globs of acid at her. Even so, Meltem felt at ease as she sank in the quicksand, immediately starting to take notes about it. “It’s got a really good gooey texture to it…” She says, blushing some.

“Incredibly viscous… I love that…” Meltem soon sank to her butt. Ordinarily, her instinct would just to be deactivate her suit and sink with her skin exposed. But considering where she is, she chose to ignore that instinct. She needed to stay in it, and for good reason. Where she was isn’t exactly peaceful. Nevertheless, Meltem’s suit did not protect against the goodness of the quicksand itself. Which to her was fortunate as she clearly wanted this.

Meltem wanted the quicksand to make her quiver in delight, to make her feel at ease. And boy howdy was she going to get her wish. Meltem’s butt disappeared into the quicksand soon after, and her blush deepened as a result. Clearly, she was having a pleasant time going down in the quicksand. “I guess I could let my pups out…” Meltem says, deactivating the top portion of her power suit. This did not disable the psychic device she had on hand, however.

Instead, the device was on her helmet, which she deactivated along with her suit. This device mimicked the power of psychic crystals, so this essentially solves the mystery of how Meltem was able to open the doors here in Fury Green, granted they respond to psychic energy. Meltem was no psychic, so this helps her out flawlessly. Even so, it’s any wonder that she was able to teleport to Viewros with just that. Though it did do some good for Meltem thus far.

Meltem soon sank to her naked breasts, her blush deepened as she hit this depth. The crisp, cool mud was a welcome break from the sun beating down on her throughout the jungle’s sunlight. Meltem felt as if she was in heaven. Working her shoulders, Meltem churned the quicksand enough so that it would swallow her breasts up. “I’m going as deep as I can in this…” Meltem moaned, pushing herself down to her neck within a short time. Her blush still unfading.

Meltem sank deeper at a slightly faster rate thanks to her churning. In fact, Meltem sank to her nose, and she turned her head backward, revealing a good quicksand beard. Her sink was quiet, just the way she loved it. But, as she went under… …It did not last. She heard the snarling of Grievers approaching. Meltem arose from the quicksand and climbed out using nearby tree roots stretching deep into the Earth. Meltem exited the clearing before the Grievers spotted her.

Meltem cleaned herself off in a spring nearby and reactivated her suit. “Time to go home.” She sighed, leaving Fury Green. Even so, she would have to get in close proximity to Chronos Tower for her personal teleporter to send her home to her own universe. Will she be able to pull it off?
