Isla Barrar Quicksand Date (Prologue: Shipwrecked)

This is the prologue to another multipart story project I have being planned.
This is the only part of it I'll share right now. The rest will come later once I've finalized everything.
Anyway, I should mention that the Isla Barrar is of Sabbie's creation. Like Palus, I'm merely borrowing it.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was a dark & stormy night. Morwenna was out on a nice sailing expedition, when the storm had started to roll in on her area without warning. Fighting the storm on her ship, Morwenna tried to navigate the rough sea as the waves attacked relentlessly. Morwenna navigated her boat through them effortlessly, avoiding great damage. "This clearly was not on my to-do list!" She exclaimed, as she continued her navigation.
She was way off course, and the storm showed no signs of letting up anytime soon. Morwenna could easily jump into the water & navigate her ship in Mermaid form, but with how rough the storm was right now, and how strong the waves were, there was no way she would be able to pull it off safely. This clearly spelled trouble for the 1/2 Mermaid. Fortunately, all she had to deal with was the rain, and the waves themselves.
Had she taken a route that would lead her into the Strait of Messina, she would had to have dealt with either avoid getting sucked down to who knows where by the Whirlpool Charybdis, or worse; face the dreaded sea monster Scylla. Morwenna was fortunate that her path was not on track to reach that strait. She had doubts that she'd have the strength to escape Charybdis, or strike down Scylla all by herself with only an axe.
Then, as she sailed on through the raging waves, things began to get worse. Thunder crashed & lightning danced in the sky. "Damn it! Why now of all times?!" Morwenna cursed. Her ship was not designed to stand up to lightning. One strike, and it would be toast. Morwenna nonetheless battled on through the stormy sea. "Work with me, damn it!" She cursed once more, struggling to get back on her intended course.
The thunder started to get louder. As more & more thunder clouds rolled in, the storm kept building up. Morwenna continued to avoid the worst of the waves as they kept coming. "Almost there..." She muttered as she seemed to get back on course. Then, the clouds above her flashed, aiming for her small ship. "No... No!" Morwenna gasped. Before she could do anything, lightning dropped from the sky, and struck her ship.
In an instant, her ship exploded into pieces, sending Morwenna flying farther away from the course she was on, dashing her hope of an easy path to get to her own homeland. Flying for 200 yards, Morwenna fell into the ocean below, before being caught by a very strong current that swept her away. Her ship was no more, and Morwenna was unable to swim through the current as strong as it was. All her hopes seemed to be lost...
But... Hours passed. The storm finally subsided. Morwenna however, though washed up ashore; lucky to have survived her ordeal, was nowhere near home. Sprawled out on an unfamiliar beach, she ultimately came to quickly, opening her eyes and sitting herself up. "Ugh... That's it... I'm double checking the weather forecasts..." She groggily said. "At least I'm... Home?" Morwenna blinked, and scanned her surroundings.
She was on a beach, yes. But, this was not the Black Mud Beach, Slime Beach, or any of the other beaches she knows of Olympus. "Wait a minute... This isn't Olympus! Where the hell am I?" She asked herself, standing up. Morwenna quickly discovered her axe and picked it up, slinging it across her back. Wherever she was, she noted one thing: The ground felt incredibly squishy. She soon remembered something from this.
"Nimue & Deloros mentioned visiting Isla Barrar once... Is this it?" Morwenna pondered. "Sure seems like it..." Her pondering was suddenly halted however, when she heard someone shouting. "Somebody help!!" It sounded. "Huh? Another soul?" Morwenna asked herself, traveling in the direction in the voice. "Help me!" It cried out again, and Morwenna continued to run down in the direction it was coming from.
Then stopping in her tracks, she soon discovered that she indeed was not alone at all. She spotted a muscular man sporting long hair, stuck in a quicksand pit. "Hey!" Morwenna called out to him. The man glanced at Morwenna. "Oh, sweet mercy, I'm not alone..." He said. "Hang on a sec! I'll get you out!" Morwenna exclaimed, before starting her search for something to use to aid in her rescue. She soon came upon a thick tree.
"This ought to help." Morwenna said. "Um, Ms.?" The man asked. "What're you doing?" "Just trust me." Morwenna said, arming her trusty Fellrender in her hands, and getting ready to swing. "Okay, only got one shot at this..." Morwenna raised her axe, and with all her might, swung it with great force. In one fell swoop, the tree was sliced, and it fell in the direction of the quicksand. "TIMBER!!!" Morwenna shouted as the tree feel.
As he sank to his elbows, the man looked in shock, and braced for impact. It's as if he expected the tree to land on him. But, it didn't. It landed 2 inches away from his form, which was still slowly sinking. "Vars, woman!" He exclaimed. Morwenna proceeded onto the fallen tree, using it as a bridge. "Sorry about that," She said. "But that was the best option I had." She adds, before lowering the safe end of her axe to the sinking man.
"Here, grab hold of this." Morwenna says, and the man does as asked. Morwenna started to step back on the tree, and as she does, she took the man with him. Effortlessly, Morwenna dragged him through the sticky quicksand like it was nothing. Finally, she pulled him to a spot where he was able to get out of the quicksand by himself. "Whew! Thanks..." He said. "Happy to have helped." Morwenna said, smiling shortly after.
"So, what's your name?" She then asks. "Me? Oh, my name's Ajax." The man answers. "Pleased to meet you, Ajax." Said Morwenna. "My name's Morwenna Socrates." "It's a pleasure, Morwenna." Ajax says, bowing. "What exactly are you doing on a place like this?" Morwenna asks. "Oh I uh... Ended up getting lost & wound up here somehow..." Ajax answered. "And what about you?" He proceeded to ask soon after.
"Well, I was sailing, when I got caught in a storm." Morwenna answered. "Sadly, my ship was destroyed in an instant. Probably charred driftwood by now..." She sighed. "I was hoping to get home, but now I'm shipwrecked on this Isla..." Ajax rubbed his chin. "Say, you wouldn't happen to be of mermaid descent, would you?" He asked. Morwenna nodded. "Let me guess: You met one of my sisters?" Morwenna asks. Ajax nodded.
"Then you'd be correct." Morwenna said. "I could swim away from this island in my mermaid form, but that wouldn't be fair to you." "That's true..." Ajax says. "Damn... what're we going to do...? We can't stay here forever..." Morwenna says, sighing. "If we work together, we can escape." Ajax said. "And it means we'll have to survive the Isla as well." Morwenna points out. She then catches Ajax starting at her almost immediately.
"Hmm~? You see something that interests you, big boy~?" Morwenna asks, getting seductive. "Yeah, I'm just now noticing that... You looked ripped..." Ajax said, a bit flustered. Morwenna flexes her muscles. "What do you expect from a fighter like me?" She giggles. "You look pretty ripped yourself, though~." She then says. "It comes from my mother." Ajax admits. "Fair enough." Morwenna says, stepping closer to Ajax.
"Ya know, like you, I certainly hoped I wouldn't have to survive alone out here," Said Morwenna. "But I never imagined it'd be with someone as handsome as you~." Ajax blushed, but then stepped back; just to fall back onto his butt. "Now hang on a sec, Morwenna!" Ajax exclaimed, but Morwenna got on all 4s, and sauntered over Ajax, as if to pin him to the ground. He was not able to resist the 1/2 Mermaid's advance on him.
But then, he suddenly relaxed as he understood that, like her older sister Aquarius, Morwenna would not think of harming him at all. Morwenna had a deep blush on her face. "I've met a lot of muscular men in my travels," Said Morwenna. "But, they always seem to eschew quicksand..." "I'm not entirely bothered by it..." Said Ajax. Morwenna smiled. "Then you & me," Said Morwenna. "Let's make a date out of this..." She says.
As she leaned into kiss Ajax, Morwenna stopped, sighing. "Oh, who am I kidding...?" She asked herself. "It probably wouldn't work out..." But Ajax shook his head. "I'm not opposed to the idea." He said. "Really?" Morwenna asks. "Not at all." Ajax answers. "Sure, we're from different realms and we've our duties, so making being together impossible... But, I'm not opposed to your idea at all." He said, smiling.
Morwenna smiled, before suddenly shivering. Ajax noticed. "Huh? Are you okay?" He asked. "I'm just cold from being in the sea..." Morwenna answers. Ajax asked nothing further, and just hugged Morwenna. His body felt warm & toasty; possibly as a result from life in the desert, but Morwenna blushed & welcomed it. "Oh, Ajax..." Morwenna sighed, settling in his embrace. "How're you so warm...?" She then asks.
"Life in a desert." He simply answered. Morwenna nodded, then looked up to him. "It shows." Morwenna said, smiling. "Now, do me a favor... And kiss me..." She goes onto say. Ajax was perplexed by Morwenna's request, but he nonetheless closed his eyes and readied his lips. Immediately after, Morwenna leaned right in and locked her lips with Ajax's, engaging in a kiss with him, which Ajax engaged in himself without hesitation.
As they kissed, Morwenna wrapped her arms around Ajax's head, feeling his head of hair without hesitation. And he did not stop Morwenna at all from this. He just kept his lips locked with hers for as long as possible. Soon after, the two released their kiss after a few minutes. "Hot damn..." Morwenna says. "You kiss good~." Ajax just chuckled at this. Morwenna soon got off Ajax, allowing him to rise up, smiling at Morwenna all the while.
"You're not so bad yourself." He admits. "Still though, it's going to take a lot of planning to survive this place..." He then says. "We'll survive." Morwenna said, reassuringly. "That is the only option." Ajax nodded to her words as he & Morwenna gazed at the forest ahead of them. Morwenna felt very confident that she & Ajax would escape Isla Barrar alive, that becoming part of it was not an option for the both of them.
But, the task of surviving will not be the least bit easy. With only a few supplies on hand, and the land around them to supposedly assist, will Morwenna & Ajax survive the sticky, gooey clutches of Isla Barrar, or will they join the many others who've explored this island, and become one with it?
Morwenna: Me
Ajax: Sabbie
