Sinking stuff on the Damned Planet (now 9 pics)

My previous story was about sinking in the moor (well, it was supposed to be about hunting in the moor, but you already know how it turned out). I want to tell you more about other perils of sinking and getting stuck which the unfortunate "elf girls" often fail to avoid.
And here is the beginning: sinking in the black soil.
Black soil covers major part of the territory where the "elf girls" live. The soil is very fertile, it's usually covered by a thick carpet of grass. The soil greedily absorbs water and becomes very soft when watered. In Spring, after the snow has melted, and in Summer and Autumn after heavy rains have fallen, the large territories turn into impassable swamp.
The girls don't fear the black soil because it's not deadly, but when it's wet, it's easy to get stuck there. The girls often sink in the soft black soil up to their armpits and can't get out without assistance. Why do the girls get in there? They gather berries there, or simply walk across the field. The soft spots are often hidden under the grass and hardly distinguishable from normal solid ground until it's too late.
On this picture we can see quite a typical situation. One girl got stuck in a soft spot, and despite all her struggle she only got deeper there. Sucked down up to her armpits, she stopped struggling, as she knew very well (she studied it in school) that in such situation she is in danger, and her struggle would only make things worse. Two other girls came to the rescue, but they both failed to approach the trapped girl and they both also became stuck. One more girl appeared with a rope, but it seems the rescue didn't go as it was planned, and she also can't move further.
We can't see that, but there are more girls around who soon will come to the rescue, too. The unlucky victim and her equally unlucky would-be rescuers will then be pulled out and seriously mocked.
Oh, and if someone is interested why the girls don't wear their loincloths, I have to admit - the fabric that they make is not very durable and shouldn't be washed too often, so the girls just take off everything before entering the boggy places.
