Hope everyone has a wonderful Holiday season and a great sinky New Year!
Here's Part One of an early present for you. Part Two isn't quite finished yet but should be ready not too long after New Year's.
Enjoy and have a safe and happy holiday! :D

CRASHED 2 - DESERT NIGHTMARE
Part 1

Susan is a flight attendant on board a DC-10 passenger jet bound from Las Vegas to San Fransisco. She's heading home for the holidays when her plane suddenly loses engine power and crashes in the desert. Everyone aboard is killed except for Susan and two of the passengers. And one of them is gravely injured.
Miraculously, Susan and the other passenger, whom she learns is named David, have sustained no major injuries. They decide to wait at the crash site until help arrives. David, who also miraculously has some medical training, tries to make the injured man as comfortable as possible.
Two days pass... Unbeknownst to either of them, the plane had veered off-course in its death dive and now the rescue crews are looking in the wrong place. And the water that wasn't lost in the crash is beginning to run low.
The decision is made that somebody needs to go and try to find help. With one man badly injured and David, as the only person who might be able to keep him alive, that leaves Susan.
They pick a direction and Susan grabs two of the remaining bottles of water, leaving the rest for David and his struggling patient. As she sets off, David gives her some parting advice. "Try to stay hydrated. In this heat and direct sun you'll lose moisture and energy more quickly."
"I will," she nods. Looking over his shoulder at the injured passenger she adds, "Do whatever you can for him. I'll find help."
"I will."
Susan turns and heads out. David watches until she's out of sight over a sand dune, then returns to his unconscious patient.

Susan walks, seemingly for hours. She tries to stay in a straight line away from the crash site, figuring it will be easier to find her way back once she finds help. She checks her footprints in the sand every now and then to ensure her direction. Even still, it is difficult to tell - most of her tracks are hidden from her view by the many sand dunes she has crossed.
The sun beats down mercilessly. Before long, her water supply is gone. With thirst clawing at her again, she realizes that if she doesn't find more this might become a one-way journey. She trudges on.
With her energy levels draining, she struggles over a particularly tall sand dune. As she crests the top, she slows, then comes to a halt for a moment's rest. Below her, on the opposite side of the dune is a small area of what looks like dead grass and trees. In the middle of it is a little stand of cacti still in bloom. 'Oh thank God,' she thinks, 'Plants..cactus... there has to be water here.'
Susan makes her way down the slope toward the promising sight...
