I always thought cool, calm, square, Charlie would be the last to go. Should have known though, Death is afraid of Keith. Glad I got to see the Stones at least once. Charlie was the calmest thing in a crowd of 60,000.

There's a great story of how Charlie did his usual thing of avoiding the party life and getting to bed at a reasonable hour. One night the phone rang and it's Mick at a party in his suite, quite drunk, and yelling Where's my fucking drummer? Charlie got up, put on a suit and tie as he often did, and went downstairs to Mick's suite. He got through the crowd to find Mick and punched him across the room - I'm not your fucking drummer! You're my fucking singer! Mick never woke him again.

Very cool guy and one of the rocks of Rock and Roll.
