There is no apparent reason other than the general crash in prices for gasoline but right now the nearest gasoline station to Studio 588 happens to have the lowest price, at $1.19 a gallon, in the entire state.

The price for a barrel of oil has now dropped to $18 in some markets. Between demand that has "evaporated" (Energy Sec) and the Saudi's trying to drive the rest of the world out of business it may be fifty cents a gallon again. As much as I enjoy cheap gas that's going to hurt a lot of things.

I am older than you and remember gas at $.28. I recall my dad driving up to the pump, at which an attendant pumped it for you, and ordering "two-dollar's worth." I don't know if the strategic oil reserve is full right now but we ought to fill it up if not.

Cheap gas is no good if you have no pace to go.

I remember during the last recession when it was $5 and my monthly gas bill was higher than my frigging car payment. Not complaining. :)
