This should be an easy one, but no Googling. Name an athlete who played professional football, professional baseball, and professional basketball (though not in the NBA), won Olympic gold medals in yet another sport, and also one a national collegiate championship in dancing.

This isn't a "Bo Knows..." question, is it? ;) That guy was amazing. A shame his career was cut short.

Who else remembers Bo Jackson, be it the correct answer or not? I use to have his early 90's sports cards:

P.S.....That's 'WON" championships and medals... :)

I am not able to view the youtube link until next midnight but so far as I am aware "Bo Jackson is NOT the, or a, correct answer here. He did not play professional basketball, win any Olympic gold, or a collegiate dance championship.

This is to add that the athlete in question ALSO acted in one or two movies and was late portrayed in another movie by a very famous actor.

I suspect that BogDog now has the correct answer and thank him for not spilling the beans.

The correct answer is Jim Thorpe. Thorpe won several gold medals in track and field, played professional football and baseball, and also basketball but with a team that existed before the NBA was founded. He won a collegiate national championship in dance. He had several parts in Hollywood movies and was played by Burt Lancaster in a movie about Thorpe. Most sports historians rank Thorpe as one of the top five athletes of the entire 20th century.
