Quicksand Fans

We all have things that we like that maybe we shouldn't. If you know me very well at all then it's not to difficult to imagine the depth of dislike I harbor for Jane Fonda. She creates so much baggage in my head that I typically find it impossible to watch her for a second even when she's sharing the screen with Dolly Parton. In spite of that I have to watch the super-60's fantasy fest that is Barbarella every time I get the chance. The entire flick is so over the top and such a part of a certain time that it fits. Don't let my relatives find out.

Not half as much fun as the scene that Immediately follows, in which Ugo Tognazzi proves that "sex the old fashioned way" is actually quite worth having...

I find this scene hilarious. It is obvious to me A) what the machine does and B) why she burned it out -- all I really want to know is how this got through the 1968 censors.

When I was a kid, I had a favorite Jane Fonda movie but it wasn't this. It was "Cat Ballou". I liked "Cat Ballou" almost as much as I liked "Fathom".

I have a fake in my files named "Barbarella". It must have been a request. I haven't seen the movie at all, which is probably obvious from how it turned out. When her picture was sent to me, I remember having to ask to find out who I was faking.

Here it is, regurgitated from the nearly bottomless bowels of the Dead Dogs Files of the Sinky Sands of Loch Ness...special delivery, from me to you.

Just one question -- was that bellybutton real or not?

I'm still mad that Fonda caved and apologized for some of her Vietnam War protests. Never watch your heroes get old.

But she was hot as heck in the '60s and it's a shame nobody ever threw her into a mudpit.

Fathom ? Raquel Welch in Fathom? I love ANYTHING she ever did! Well maybe Myra Breckenridge needs help but Fathom is a favorite too. You never cease to amaze

That's the one, all righty. Back then, DVDs didn't exist and sometimes a kid had to pitch a fit to see a favorite movie, especially if parents thought it was trash.

I found a DVD awhile back. It sure is nice not to have to fight with anybody about this any more.
