pizza and more
I mentioned elsewhere that I had a bread machine being delivered today. It works rather well. I can now say that home made pizza is now on the menu for guests at Studio 588. Home made French bread will probably be added as well.

Try this if you don't have one. Makes your crust get perfect.

Re: pizza and more
Its worth consideration. I tend to make my pizza rectangular but the shape does not really matter.

It's like a pizza stone but more durable. Having a big chunk of metal heat soaked in your oven also helps maintain the higher temps you need for good pizza.

Re: pizza and more
I've been making pizza for a while. My paternal grandmother was from a town about as far south as you can get in Sicily without getting wet. Pretty much the same town the British invaded in WWII.
Actually I think my pizza is better than hers, but what I wish I knew how to do was make a sort of pie she called impanada (or empanada). It was a sorta of thin-crusted pie both on top and bottom and the filling had things like spinach and some sort of cheese (ricotta?) little bits of hamburger, plus a few other things.

If you google it, you can find many recipes online (most are for empanada). Also, something that is similar is spanakopita, which has a filling of feta or rocotta cheese, spinach (or leeks, chard or sorrel), eggs, onions or scallions, seasoning, inside a phyllo pastry.
I sink, therefore I WAM!!!!

Yes, I have done that. What I probably should have said was I wished I knew how my own grandmother made it.

Re: pizza and more
Making a loaf of French Bread today, the first to be cooked by the bread machine. A few days ago I made a pizza but for that the machine makes the dough and a regular oven cooks it. Actually, I added a healthy dose of garlic and onion powder to the ingredients so its French garlic/onion bread.
