July is being REALLY harsh! Along with the famous Chuck Mangione we also lost today the less famous but still awesome vocalist and guitarist George Kooymans of Golden Earring fame ("Radar Love"). Crazy and sad month.

I feel a bit guilty that I seem to know him well and yet "Feels So Good," is the only song of his I know of.

Here's my favorite Chuck Mangione tune - Bellavia. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bz2JEI6HU3Y
Saw him at Pine Knob back in the day. I had a live album that took me right back to the show, but nothing came up in searching that rang any bells. It may have been Live at the Hollywood Bowl. I'll check with my sister, who ended up with all my vinyl.
In any case, the sound on that live album was awesome. Much more dynamic than the studio versions.

I liked Chuck Mangione as well. Saw him live at the Royal Festival Hall in London back in the 80s or 90s. During one number he put down his cornet and came down from the stage, picked a woman out of the audience and had a close dance with her. Don't know if it was pre-arranged or not, but a nice touch and probably made it a night to remember for her.

That was nice. Sweet sax too. Thanks.

Thanks for that, Duncan - interesting perspective, lucky Kendra.
Met Ozzy on a few occasions when was in Sabbath during their reunion tour(s), very affable fella - had a nice conversation with him once about some Sabbath tunes - when he couldn't answer, he said to ask Geezer, he wrote the lyrics

Really nice guy.
