Vaping

Postby Mynock » Fri Sep 20, 2019 5:00 pm

I got my mom a vape pen about 3 years ago and she FINALLY stopped her pack a day Marlboro habit. Just finished reassuring her that her lungs weren't going to melt like that kid on TV.
For those that might not be in the know:

1. Regular E-Juice bought from a reputable USA based company (don't buy shit from overseas) contains 4 things: Vegetable Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, Food Grade Flavoring, and Nicotine.

2. The people that are currently sick/dead were vaping an oil based Cannibis product that was cut with a substance called Vitamin E Acetate to make it appear thicker (thicker = higher THC content). They were purchased off the street from some drug dealing asshole and most assuredly are not things you should vape.

Please don't join the current media induced mass hysteria and demonize something that is helping millions of people not use Tobacco products. No, Vaping is not good for you and if you don't do it don't start, but compared to cigarettes the difference in danger is like jumping off a 6 inch curb vs jumping off a 6 story building.

I'm doing just fine with my Nicorette addiction.

And the gum can't explode in your face, either. At least I don't think it can.

More media sensationalism.......195 explosions/fires between 2009 and 2016. There are around 10 million people in the US that currently Vape.

That gum might not explode but it's hella expensive and tastes like shit. :P For the price of one box you could set yourself up with a good quality Mod (that won't explode) and be tasting cinnamon funnel cake. And you'll be trendy!

Well, taste is taste. My staple is 2mg Fruit Chill. And usually associated with regular sips of flavored coffee.

It's pricey, for sure. I usually go for about four pieces a day. That's far less cost than cigarettes.

But it goes without saying that mishaps are under-reported. Stuff like that always is. All it took for me was the fact that a couple guys died when shrapnel sliced through their jugular veins. It's hard to get past that.

Here in New York, they are banning flavored vape products. So, there being a demand, the market will fill it. Now everybody will have to buy vape products made in somebody's basement rather than FDA regulated labs- which will make the problem worse instead of better.

Massachusetts went one better and is banning vaping outright.

Last time, people- prohibition never, ever, ever works.

Yup.....they'll have as much succeess enforcing this as they do Marijuana laws. I wonder if the online companies can/will still ship there. I buy my mom's stuff almost exclusively online because the brick and mortar stores put such a high markup on it.
