Went sinking with my wife on Saturday

Postby malibu001 » Sun Aug 23, 2009 10:39 pm

So my wife and I drove out to the Robb area on saturday. For those of you who dont live here its the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in Alberta. So anyway we found some silt/sand bar in a shallow river. nice to have clean fresh water to clean up in! Without much effort, i sank up to my knees quite fast and then I pumped my legs and was swallowed up to my waist! the only thing stopping me from going down further was what it thought to have been a tree root or log or something blocking my way. My wife couldnt believe how easy it was to get that deep. She only felt comfortable as her first time out going in to her knees, but I wasnt scared at all! The next time we go, we are going to try peat moss or bog type material and not sand. Still looking for actual mud mud though. Hard to find. It took as nearly 3 hours of driving on logging roads ( and you know what they are like) just to find something secluded and safe to use. Yes next time there will be pictures and video. Short of making my own movie, this we be well documented for all to enjoy!

I look forward to pictures if you should post them but this is nice to hear without them.

Congratulations to you and to your wife. Not every couple can get as deep as you got.

Let me know if you need directions to a great night spot in Jasper, real quicksand and easy clean up......(P.S. It would have to be about 30 Celcius during the day to make the trip worthwhile as it cools down in the mountains.)
