Just thought I'd pass this along to those fans of the animated quicksand scene.
There is an animated series based on the Redwall books by the late Brian Jacques, regarding a warrior mouse and his adventures in Merrie Old England which features two quicksand scenes, one implied. It is done by Nelvana and was broadcast on Teletoon, the Canadian version of Cartoon Network some 10 years ago.
There were three 13-episode storylines in the series, which was cool in itself....
In the second story, Mattimeo, a Tale of Redwall, a character notices a quicksand pit and tosses in a rock. It is implied a pair of bad guys (rats, actually) had sunk in it, but it isn't shown...
The third story Martin The Warrior, there is a rather grim scene when a squirrel character, bent on revenge, lures a group of rat warriors into a marsh where they sink to their doom in quicksand... or are killed by arrows he is firing at them. Only three escape, barely, covered in mud.
One of these scenes is described, briefly, in the book "Martin the Warrior"" dealing with the above scene. It is pretty short, with very little description, but still cool.

Re: Redwall animated quicksand scenes
Ah, I remember those scenes. In the book 'Martin the Warrior' I remember when the group got in the quicksand and an otter(I think) said "Elp! Ahm sinkin'!!!" with a heavy accent. The book was so heartbreaking(not that scene, ones much later) that I never read another Redwall book again. I watched the cartoon thinking maybe it was softer but nope.
