Quicksand Fans

Hey, curious if anyone has visited this area in the Mesa/Phoenix area....

There looks like plenty of quarry quicksand and stuff, and was wondering if anyone had visited it before, or had any details.

There's a dark brown area directly to the north of the large lake/pond and directly south of what looks like some big-ass cranes that could be a gold mine. Hasn't been touched in long enough that you have vegetation and it looks like runoff is dragging all the nice silty clay right into the settling pond.

The structures north of the interesting area are not cranes, but conveyor systems for transporting the material. But, access to that interesting deposit of sediment might be rather difficult, with large risk of being caught, and arrested for trespassing.

Yes, I'm with Boggy on that...there are other areas that I can check out pretty safely over there. If anyone is nearby and up for an adventure at the end of May, let me know....Blazeskier can vouch that I'm fairly normal.

Hey Quicksander,
Checked it out, difficult to get too and you are too exposed. I will be in Tucson the second week of May sinking in my favorite spot. Shoot me an not.

Is there actually mud there? Much of the mud in sand and gravel operations out West is sort of gritty silt instead of slippery clay. Nothing like night to reduce exposure.

If anyone is near there and wants to check it out when I get to town, I'd love to catch up!
