Quicksand Fans

Hey, I'm a lot younger than a lot of you all. I'm 19, right out of highschool and well.. thought I'd join this site becase like all of you, I'm lucky enough to have this amazing love for mud and quicksand. I'm a big fan of the all the video producers and love going for a dip every once in a while too. I've got a lot of opinions and ideas for making more "young adults" like myself attracted to the idea of buying videos so if you want them producers I got time for you. Just wanted to all to know that this "thing" is catching on in our generation too and isnt going anywhere. Hell, even my smokin hot GF digs it. So, with that said, Hi fans! Nice to finally talk to you.

Welcome! I have "generation envy" as I "wish" I had a resource like this one available when I was your age. (I am 45 now.) I stumbled across "The Quicksand Page" in September 1995 so I would have been 29 -- not too bad but the resources have grown exponentially since that time. You are quite fortunate to have a girlfriend who embraces or at least tolerates this interest. Perhaps you can talk her into participating here as well if she is of legal age like you.

Welcome to the forum. It's good to hear that quicksand is staying with us throughout the generations.

I have noticed that the next generation is much more comfortable with themselves than we ever were. I rarely hear somebody your age say that they must hide this from everyone. More young people tell me their real names. More young people have told their "significant other" and fewer of them spazz out about their jobs.

The interest in quicksand, even an erotic interest, just doesn't seem to be a very big deal to the young. Guys my age, though, are often still in hiding.

I second the idea of bringing the girlfriend in if she feels like coming on board. The couple that plays together stays together. Doesn't matter how they play, long as you both love it and you're bonding over it. Just, you need to find a cleanup pond somewhere if you play it our way.

Well, for me, I'm somewhat envious that the internet has made it so easy for the upcoming generation to come in contact with others of various interests, so there is little to nothing out there that a high schooler can really be made to feel that "they're the only one who thinks this". Even at my current age, I had up past college the sense that, with a lot of things in my life, that I was one of the few, if not only, that felt that way and, hence, quite isolated and suppressive.

I agree. I felt alone in this fetish until 1998, when I first went on line and typed in the magic word... and I was 32 at the time. I had this obsession since at least as long as I could remember, maybe four, five years old, and that is a loooong time to keep something to yourself, being mortified people would find out about my mudlarking expeditions, coming up with weird stories to cover up being discovered if I was, that sort of thing. I still have only confided in a pair of close friends of mine, and they are cool with it.

When you consider what we all went through to catch even a glimpse of a quicksand scene back in the day, much lass a picture of people wading in the real thing (I nearly died happy when a National Geographic magazine had an article of people studying tidal flats complete with photos of mucky wading, including a young college student in her bikini sunk up to her waist while sifting through the silt....) you realize this is indeed the Golden Age of Sinking.

If you have ideas you wish to share with the producers the best approach is probably to contact each producer directly.

I assure you that mod is not here. He is likely a lurking user but definitely not a mod. When Dave led the effort to create QSF he set a very different environment for the user/mod relationship. It's not perfect but you really have to cross some red lines to get yourself banned here. Being underage is wrong but acting underage stands a better chance of getting you thrown out no matter how old you are. We can handle mistakes or bad days but flaunting the rules and then arguing with the mods is probably going to get you in trouble. Anyhow, banning is the very last thing anyone at QSF wants to do.

But yeah, more to the point of this thread, I don't know why there aren't more people our age into it. I mean it's not like the airwaves were flooded with QS scenes when I was growing up, and that's why I have this fetish. I essentially saw one scene as a kid (from a McDonald's cartoon of all things) and was hooked from that moment. And for that matter, why there aren't more of the Japanese into it. And by "more of" I mean "any at all." It seems right up their alley, given the weird-ass shit in some hentai.

Thought the same things many times. You would think this would be a perfect "Japanese" fetish interest.

Anyway, would a "What's your age?" poll be offensive to anyone? I think it'd be interesting to see a bar graph or something of the age groups of this community. And the answers would be anonymous anyway, right?

I would be very curious about our demographics here. Please create any kind of polling you like to that effect. I always thought it was very interesting that the video producers generally fall into a very narrow range of race/age/sex/backgrounds etc. Nessie being the lone female is kind of the exception but everything else about her fits with the others. What about the rest of the crowd?

I'm not the only female here but we are pretty well outnumbered. There is even one other female producer -- Mudsocks -- on this board.

I have been convinced from the beginning, though, that there are more women hanging out here than we think. I am sure that they are invisible.

I lurked for a long time, myself. I found all this in 2000 but I hid behind my artist's materials for about three solid years. I did help on one shoot (Kaol's, 2001) but I refused to show my face.

The problem lies in the fact that when a female speaks up, she risks getting bombarded. If you simply cannot do anything for the guys anyway -- why attract their attention?

The problems will lessen as time passes, though. They already have. Basically, over time, people have gotten used to socializing on the Net, and as that has happened, men and women got used to interacting respectfully even on fetish forums...things are, today, WAY better for women here in the quicksand community than they were ten years ago.

My generation of females were not sure we should even poke our noses into a place where there was a lot of sexual stuff when the Net started up...but the generations after me?

They think, "So what?"

Am I so lucky to have been raised to believe that I'm just a normal human being even if I'm sexually deviant (or even just generally deviant)? This thread is uplifting at the same time that it's a little depressing. It's nice to see people accepting themselves, but it's also a little depressing seeing that doing so is even something special in the first place. You are who you are, and just about anything short of murder and "not playing well with others" is fine by me.
