Quicksand Fans

I hope I'm posting here in the right topic area here.
Had a intersting thought about something. I seen references of plays where a gal or two gets tied as part of the story line.
Here's a interesting challenge though. Can one imagine trying to do a quicksand scene on stage in a play? Wonder if that's ever been done? That could pose some interesting challenges if one ever considered trying that.
True one would have to make a special set up for it but that could be interesting.

I always thought that the 'Man Show' scene was interesting. That pit was no more than 18" deep, but it seemed to get the point across.

It just goes to show what you can do with a couple spirited actresses (and a midget with a winch).

I have read comments on one Internet board about "Dawns are Quiet Here" staged in an acting school (I can't remember was it in Moscow or St.Petersburg, and in what school it was exactly). The girls who discussed the play (as I understood - the students of the same school) were totally shocked by the bog scene. Seriously, they mentioned how scary it was to watch how the bog slowly sucked the girl down, and how the girl desperately struggled, and finally drowned... And the bog was simulated by folded cloth! I believe, the actress was very talented

That sounds quite intereging Billie. Would be interesting to actually watch that bit.

I don't think the play was shot, and even if it was, it's nearly impossible to find it in the Internet. In general, Ukrainian students (and I suppose, Russian ones, too) post such videos at vkontakte.ru (one of the two most popular Russian social networks) where the videos may be protected by privacy settings.

EDIT: It was the very first time when I tried search in "vkontakte". Surprisingly, it gave the results. I found dozen of various "The dawns here are quiet" on stage of various theaters. I'm pretty sure that the bog scene is somehow reflected in each play, but I'm in great doubt that it worth seeing.

I must admit, I also found that Chinese TV series "The dawns here are quiet". Unfortunately, the bog scene is absolutely and completely failed there. So great disappointment! If someone s really interested, it is in 11-th episode of 12 (I heard, there was 20-episodes series, too...)
