Never Forget
Let's take a time out here to never forget the events that happened 24 years ago today.

Re: Never Forget
It's bittersweet to see how little attention seemed to be paid this year. Pearl Harbor used to be a much bigger thing too even when we were kids. Pain fades, sadness fades. There are 24 year olds now for who it was something that happened before they were even born. Next year there will be Kindergartners entering school that were born two decades after.

and the adage is, "those who fail to remember history are doomed to repeat it". Those who cheered the 9/11 attacks will certainly not forget it and they'll be the genesis of the next attack on those who forget.
I remember the day. Less than three hours before the first strike on New York, my wife got home from a bus trip across the border. Had she take a different route, she would have still been on the road and I'd have to hope the bus would keep going to its northern terminus instead of stopping in the middle of almost-nowhere. (The Alaska Highway.)
